This is true.. I started doing this recently - starting measuring my progress based on how I react to symptoms.. I can say that I no longer have daily anxiety. I can enjoy life now and look forward to things. I am no longer depressed.

Yeah I had watched a video similarly related saying the same thing. And once I started going back out there and driving again, it was so true, I started feeling the symptoms more and not less. It was confusing.

The Art of Acceptance and let go is to give up all the expectations and hopes. When you expect "yes, I accepted the symptoms and allow it to be there" just because you want it to disappear in the future which mean you are coping the Anxiety. _ Acceptance means you are be self-aware every worst case that possibly happens to you and accept it, allowing your Anxiety/sadness flare up then response to the that Anxiety. Repeat it overtime until your Anxiety symptoms disappear. Remember, fully recovery doesn't mean Anxiety free, it means you still feel Anxiety but no longer suffer any symptoms or feel discomfort/irritate.

Shawn, when you say not to do anything, I get that. And I’ve put in practice of not asking for reassurance. That being said, should we continue to tell ourselves that it’s going to go away? I’ve been battling anxiety, OCD my whole life, with it being manageable the majority, but every 5 to 10 years, it gets extremely bad. I’m 46, and the past 5 years, I’ve been proactive. Your content has made a big difference in my life. I’m not in the mentorship, but I am getting counseling.

I’m in the program and I recommend just looking at progress you’ve made, what I do is I will look back and be like “I wasn’t able to do x,y,z a month ago and now I can, when symptoms are high I’m starting to respond like this where as before I would flip out and want to go to the ER”, there’s a difference between looking for reassurance and wanting to track progress. It’s all about how you respond to the anxiety, not about if it’s going away. Anxiety diminishes and changes due to you responding correctly.

Do you help with psychosomatic pain? I don’t know even know how it happened but it could be a trigger from something. I’ve had front throat muscle tension for awhile and feels like something in my throat and tension and my voice gets raspy. It’s all in the area where my voice box is. It just feels like all my muscles but I have gotten everything ruled out and nothing is wrong.

You have to challenge it ! For example if you are afraid to have a heart attack ask it to give you one and it won’t. You will eventually see that your symptoms are just bluffing you

@@puffymuffin9064 Your symptoms are really neutral. You have the same feeling when you are excited or stressed ( you feel your heart palpitates very fast, you breathe faster, you have sweaty palms ) . Those things are very natural it’s just your fight or flight response who is activated . But in reality the hard part is your mind , it will give you the worst tough possible to keep you in the cycle. For example : What if it’s a heart attack, yesterday nothing happened but now what if something will bad will happen. Those tought you can’t control them they will happen every second and minute of your day. But if you decide to respond with a really calm altitude to those NEUTRAL symptoms and tought your nerves will start to desensitize and sometimes you will start to forget that you have anxiety. But you have to train, the first few weeks you will struggle a lot to accept your tought and symptoms but you will continue to face your fear and you will see at the end that all your symptoms was a big bluff
