The ball detention mount is way better than the shitty dovetail. The flaw in anvis-6/9 is the bridge but they fixed that on the PVS-23s
I told my nv guy to make me a ball detent google that articulates and I would be happy.
I know a guy who has made one by combining an anvis 9 and a 1431

It’s not bulky, he fabricated a custom bridge with ball detent that is compatible with 1431 tube housings.
