Dupont is an all around player who can do everything well set attacks, counter attacks, broken plays, pass, tackle, box kick, long kick, kick pass, deep cover... All of that from the 9 position. Wait he can also play 10 😂

That tackle on Mac was unbelievable, watching it live I couldn’t believe the strength to stop him and rewatching I still can’t really believe he stopped him

I feel he's the ultimate scrum-half - highly athletic, and with serious muscle strength, and at 5'7/5'8? also highly agile and fast AF over the grass. But it's his will that sets Dupont apart really and you can see it all over these clips - he's willing to front up to multiple defenders and is confident in his ability to beat you with a combo of strength, speed, ball skills, and a brain that clearly sees the game unfolding in front of him. He's a class act, and he inspires both Toulouse, and French team-mates to up their game. Much respect to Dupont, from an Irish Rugby supporter.👏

His one weakness is that he has an (admitedly small) tendency to have his kick from behind the scum blocked. Otherwise, another one can be that so much is expected of him that he could try and overdo it.

Rugby has always been popular in France but only in certain regions here and there. (especially south west) As instance, I'm from Normandie, and soccer always led here. Since French team does so well, my local rugby club grew to 50% more subscribers those last 3 years. Nearly every kids identifying to Dupont. you're 100% correct.

Seeing his physicality on display, he's like an 8 and a 9 rolled into one.

Stats: 26 years old 1.74 m tall (5 ft 9 in) Circa 90kg (13 st 5.39 lb; 187.39 lb) 5’9” for a scrum-half and he looks so small on the pitch. I remember Joost looking huge on the pitch at 1.88m, but DAMN, Dupont is a beast!

Le ministre de l'intérieur, il a une capacité d'analyse d'une rapidité importante, vif et prodigieux, l'équipe de France a retrouvée un niveau important. Dupont ne fait pas tout, il est parfait avec l'équipe, notamment avec son coéquipier Ntamack, qui est forfait pour la CDM. Dupont sait s'adapter aux autres joueurs, qu'importe qui est le demi d'ouverture, il a démontré des qualités plus que nécessaire face à des grosses équipes. La CDM s'annonce magnifique, les équipes ont des niveaux impressionnants. Cependant, attention aux blessures, un Dupont blessé, ça serait bien trop complexe pour notre équipe. Merci Antoine, à très vite sur les matchs de CDM

Carter, McCaw, Caucaunibuca, Lomu, Dusutoir. When you watched them, you they were just better than everyone else. Dupont is another one of these players. To overshadow Aaron Smith, who is the best, non-South African after Du Preez and Westhuizen, 9 to play the game is impressive. But he manages to overshadow everyone else as well. Dupont and Etzebeth are going to be the players from this generation remembered in the years to come as the best. Itoje could have been, but has dropped off in the last couple years.

@@bottomeyeview2767 I think you must've missed out on the Boudjellal / Laporte hayday : Wilkinson Hayman Botha Giteau and the like, 3 straight European cups. More recently, Etzebeth was great, hit the ground runnning, I'd say Ollivon has been doing decently enough, see how he plays on an international level, Parisse too was good despite getting there on the very tail end of his career, Facundo Isa is good, Villière got to the French national team thanks to what he's been doing in Toulon, so no. I'm no fan of the RCT but their recent signings have been a mixed bag, not all terrible, far from it.

Dupont is a fantastic player but come one, ive never seen du pont do what Lomu has done either. Plus Dan Carter is the highest point scorer in test rugby history. Just appreciate this man for the greatness he is in this era.

Let's compare what is comparable, in game abilities. I think Dupont is a overall better player than Carter, for Lomu, I don't know I'm too young to have an idea of how big was his impact on the game

@rhino Lomu a été un joueur exceptionnel avec pour son époque un physique hors-normes pour un ailier : 120 kg /260 pounds et 1.92 m / 6ft 3.5 inches. Alors que le rugby devenait professionnel au milieu des années 90 il a joué contre des Dominici, Bernat-Salles ou Galthié qui lui rendaient 20 bons centimètres et 30 ou 40 kg. A partir du moment où il pouvait prendre de la vitesse il était quasiment impossible de l'arrêter. Ce sont ces qualités de physique et de vitesse qui en ont fait un joueur exceptionnel. Que ferait-il aujourd'hui avec le physique de Dupont ou face à des centres ou ailiers qui se sont rapprochés de son physique ? Sans vouloir ternir sa mémoire largement moins que Dupont et ses courses destructrices seraient plus souvent stoppées par les centres ou ailiers d'aujourd'hui.
