I’ve definitely been gaslit by hairstylists that royally messed up my hair and couldn’t own up to it. So Sundai’s theory could be true. However, I absolutely would NOT put it past Tyra to purposely give a model a bad makeover.

It’s insane that they allowed her to dive and submerged her for a photo shoot with asthma. I’m 31 years old and in great shape and I can’t get dive certified because asthma is one of the few conditions that if you go even a little too far under can be fatal.

She has the cutest lil head I remember being obsessed w her face

STAR STRUCK! I LOVE that Jessica interviews and just has fun conversations with the models!! So much advocacy! What a platform to tell their side of the story. This has got to be part of the reason Jessica is so great at her job -- she truly does care about models.

Sundai, it sounds like you may have had a perforated eardrum from the water impact. It’s a pretty common injury when water rushes in at such high speed/impact like that. They really shouldn’t have eliminated you FOR GETTING INJURED. Also I hope they got you medically checked out. Yikes.

Oh my god!! I am a freediver.. diving with an injury like that is such a risk too? You have to be able to equalize properly or you could rupture your eardrums. They could have permanently injured her twice for that. The lack of safety is so crazy.

The fact that production sets up these poor women to do these dangerous things then have the audacity to get upset when they speak up about being sick or injured. In what world are professionals in the modeling industry going to use inexperienced models to jump off dangerous cliffs or go deep diving? That’s a liability. The whole “well you’re just going to have to do all these stunts that you aren’t comfortable with in order to be a top model” is straight bs. The companies and industries are going to get models experienced in those areas.

5:32 Sundai is talking about Amber! Many people think she joined as a joke or someone sent her as a joke and when she realized it was getting real(she got chosen, bet production loved her) she dipped. My guess is she just wanted to do her ‘bit’ on tv and leave but didn’t think they would actually pick her to be in the competition 😅

Amber did an interview with Oliver Twixt, where she said that her mom pulled her out of the competition. She talked about how the producers were saying they'd be "watching them" while they moved into the house (which she took literally) and how stressed she had become to where she couldn't handle the pressure of the competition

Oh my goodness poor Sundai! I am a dive professional and if they had anyone even remotely decent at there job they should have never let her go under water with a potentially perforated ear drum. That is so dangerous, it's one of the main things we teach new divers is how to prioritize there health and safety first and foremost! She could have permanently damaged her hearing.

I'm suprised you didn't addres how she was doing a photo shoot in the water while trying to keep her hair dry! That was her most epic moment imo!!! She talked about how the water would puff up her hair and she was ignored. We're just going to leave that out? It's the thing I remember most about Sundai!

What the heck!! I found out about Sundai through her Japan journey so to find out she was a victim of ANTM is blowing my mind because I LOVED that show growing up 😭😭

I was hooked on ANTM for some years . Eva the diva was the first shorter model 5'7" who won . I never knew that there was a competition for ladies 🚺 under 5'7". I am subscribed to Sundai ' s vlog

Finally! Not because of a new video, but something much different. Jess, girl, the makeovers are the most iconic episodes to watch. Having said that, if you want to watch makeover episodes, watch C15. It has a gross unfair twist at the end.

With makeovers, I feel some do the best with their favorites. Some, they just give an easy makeover close to mothing that they know will go home soon. And some they do bad to bring down their confidence.

It’s really interesting to hear someone say something negative about Miss Jay. Because in basically every Oliver Twixt interview, contestants have only ever said the nicest things about him. I’m not invalidating Sundai’s experience. It’s just different to hear someone say something not completely positive.

Hot take, but I think the elimination for her ear was because they may have been worried the injury was serious and it could be a liability. I'm sure the girls signed paperwork, but considering what Sundai said about where they had them jump for, the fact that the life guard couldn't get close, etc- they decided to get rid of her before it "became an issue", or was talked about too much. So it was easier to say she was just "complaining too much" as opposed to what they did for that shoot really coming to light.

So excited to see Sundai again! I remember her so well from watching this is my young teens. She stuck with me and has to be my favourite through all the seasons! Beautiful, lovely and so funny girl. I remember watching and being in LOVE with Sundai! After she got eliminated, i was so devastated. i was so happy when i saw her in a taio cruz video (that's the artist iirc). It's nice to see her seemingly well now!!

Sundai was such a great contestant, I really enjoyed her on the crazy show. I’m glad she didn’t drown. Why are they wearing rope clothes?! And those sad makeover graphics, how low budget. I’m digging Tyra’s fake accent. Now that’s cringe realness. At least her weave is fresh

I’ve been training to be a mermaid for three years (mono fin swimmers who free dive perform underwater in tails) and that photo shoot sounds terrifying to me…I’m not even ready to do weighted posing underwater in a five foot pool. That’s so incredibly dangerous that they had them do that, they could have been killed. Unbelievable. 😮

I was shocked about Miss. Jay but I kind of am happy Manuel was considered nice as I’ve seen interviews with him and read a preview of his book. Some of Mr. jays comments were probably catty because he was kept under contract and Tyra pretty much badmouthed him in the industry when he wanted to leave the show. As soon as he could get out of contract legally without Tyra being able to badmouth him he left and the other guy came in

@@teijaflink2226 It wasn't that he just got tired of Tyra, I believe that his first contract ended somewhere between Cycle 4 and Cycle 5 and he was thinking of leaving the show, but everywhere he went, it was like Tyra and the producers had badmouthed him and he just decided that the other prospects weren't working and he wanted to at least have the money, maybe if he worked for them a bit longer, the show would end and then there wouldn't be a need to talk badly about him to other industry professionals. I really like Mr. Jay, but I daren't say that in comments to Jessica's reaction videos ;)

Not invalidating Sundai's experience, but almost every single model has said Ms Jay was super kind and genuine behind the scenes so I'm not totally buying what Sundai said. However, I can see how she saw Ms Jay as "mean" considering how direct and crazy Ms Jay was in front of the cameras lol. As for Mr Jay, I can see him being nice. There were moments on the show when he was catty, but I also think that was just being comfortable around the girls. I think he's much more kind off camera.

I've got short hair 😂. I don't let people who mistake me for a guy to bother me, I like my hair short. The jumping of a cliff with such sea conditions and with rocks should have not happened. The photoshoot underwater while having the ear 'broken' is such a bad idea, and without knowledge of how to use scuba diving equipment, even if it's just a diving regulator it's so risky!

I usually feel pretty tall or the same height next to other women (I'm around average height too), never felt short but I would probably have been called dwarf in this show. I know models are supposed to be tall but feels weird when they call them short.

I remember taking my cousin to an American Idol audition and they were recording us cheering and we had to do multiple takes of it in the hot sun. There was 1 person that wasn’t cheering and they told him we have to keep doing this over and over until he cheers. Everyone was pissed but we finally got it done and was able to go in the building. Sundai mentioning the multiple takes reminded me of that
