Antiques Roadshow UK 30x01 Hereford (2007, BBC)

In a return to the original setting for the show, Michael Aspel returns for his final season, there are still surprises in store with an extremely valuable painting and a dish that is worth a lot more than was paid for it.

Even the bigger venue seems not enough space.

" He was born in Belfast and worked for most of his life in Glasgow actually. He had this Irish, Scottish thing". I'd like to ask this person, " What is this Irish/Scottish thing.?? That's a somewhat offensive way to put it !

"He had both an Irish and a Scottish outlook and understanding", perhaps? I can't imagine anybody taking offense at that, but perhaps I haven't had the amount of practice required.

The Venerable Bede, (died c735) in his Ecclesiastical History records in some detail the invasion of Caledonia by an Irish tribe called the Scots. Are you offended by the obvious truth of the Irish being linked to the Scots or the Scots to the Irish?

Probably meant that he lived in Ireland and then Scotland - hardly offensive.
