I went to Bibury with a couple of friends from London. One swore it was pronounced "Bibbery" the other insisted it was pronounced "Bye Bury." :)

my parents are British born Canadians so have been to England multiple times mostly to Suffolk area. I remember yrs ago driving from Bath to Stratford upon Avon but we must have by-passed the Cotswolds...so bummed now that we didn't tour the area..it is gorgeous...Enjoyed this video so much. Now I have to do another trip to UK😄

If you've not been ... I highly recommend on one of your trips to England to visit Coventry. The cathedral is a transcendent place. On the night of 14th November 1940, the city of Coventry was devastated by bombs dropped by the Luftwaffe. Hit directly by several incendiary bombs, the Cathedral burned with the city. The Ruins are the remains of a medieval parish church, consecrated to be the Cathedral of the new Diocese of Coventry just 22 years earlier, in 1918. The ruins exist adjacent to the new part of the Cathedral. Just walking the grounds and exploring the ruins was a pretty spiritual experience and speaks to the resiliency of the English people and their regard for history of their country.

Burton on the Water!!! Loved staying there! Was my favorite by far in the Cotswolds, because the river running thru it was what gave it the best charm!

Wow, how beautiful the countryside in England is! The green seems greener than anywhere. Cotswold is a destination to behold. Nice to see there are some antiques and vintage that is affordable and packable! I am always amazed at the churches, homes, and ruins that are all so old. Kind of brought tears to my eyes.

Thanks for the memory with the bank. So Laura, you never broke into a Penny Bank? If there's a will there's a way. I would never break a bank to get the money out either. When I was a young child my Mother would put duck tape over the stopper on the bottom of the bank to try to detoure me from taking my money out. Well, that didn't work. So, if I wanted to get money out to buy penny candy at the neighborhood corner store I held the bank upside down and I would take a butter knife and shimmy the knife into the slot and shake the bank and wala coins would drop out. That's when 5 cents would get you 5 pieces of candy. It was a great time to be a kids growing up in the 60's. To this day I still have my 65 year old penny bank I received when I was born. What a wonderful trip you & your husband took. I picture myself through you walking around the land and visiting all the wonderful places & looking at all the beautiful scenery and of course all those great shops. Thank You for sharing Laura!
