Ive got two 70's ambassadeur 6500c and one striper that were my grandpas Im rebuilding right now. Abu garcia has always been my go to reel.

I really really like the 4600 ambassaduer reels. I use mine for treble hook baits and bottom contact baits.

God I gotta look into this. My dad had a few of these reels, one of which I was recently fixing

i have a red one no date on the serial number im thinking mid fifties is the time made think its worth a good amount?

I just bought a 5000 and 5500c for $40 both and a vintage 5500 for $20 this last one has the pearly looking handle.

Good god, I am jealous. A 1601/2501/2601 are my holy grails and I don’t think I’ll ever get one.

I have a garcia collection as nice as this , with shimanos, daiwas and others roo. My rarest garcias are the 1980s Bass pro collection the black royal express 4500, the gold crankin 3.8 express, and the silver high speed 6.2, dozens more I can't remember, all sitting in my reel cabinet some for 40 years, most never saw water. Most have the boxes. Have a decision is it time to sell and get some new tackle and update? Stay tuned

I bought a lot of zebco 33s and sold one for 33 dollars, one for 202, one for 808!!!

Why throw away? I've fished for over 50+ years have had mine that long repaired some and bought more. Not new of coarse the old ones are the good ones.

I have a champagne gold 2500c, I think I bought it in early 2000s. Do you have any idea how much it’s worth these days? I could sell it if it’s worth enough. (Edit) I’m not really sure when I bought it but somewhere from 90s to 00s

What reels do you have? Those smaller 25xxx and 15xx are sought after quite a bit, especially in Asia.

Congrats. Yes we learned a lot about these in a very short amount of time. We have sold all but 1 now and it only took a little over a month!

As much as i love abu garcia reels, if i could afford to buy the whole lot for roughly $35k
