Antique Picking Through Kentucky, Arriving at Cave City
This is our leg of the journey from Columbia Tennessee up to Cave City Kentucky. While on the road we stopped at a few large antique shops and we'll share some of the things we found once we get to the next RV Park.

Love your Antique Store Tours…..this one was perfect, the 112, real antiques! 😎
Awesome adventure! That looks like a cream centrifuge to test the milk! Very cool! Abby I feel you about the dogs!

Good seeing you around the channel!
An old centrifuge, spins to separate material, chemistry, so cool
Dinosaurs? Antiques? Aren't they the same?! LOL... Am enjoying watching your adventures...
Hey Adam! @07:58 I believe that is a milk testing centrifuge. Basically, it is to separate the milk versus butterfat for testing percentage of butterfat in a given measure of milk. Ken
Hand crank centrifuge. Old medical lab equip. I have a small one at work I use for spinning out bubbles from mixed epoxy resin.

Bingo...As soon as he opened it...
Adam whenever the trailer starts to sway hit the trailer brakes that will straighten it out. (Just the trailer brakes on the controller) The fireman would be the one to light the burner on the steam engine
I lived in Brewton growing up. Always hit the arcade in Cordova mall when we went down there. Loved that place!
Those crescent shaped cast iron pans would make great fajita plates with wooden cradles. Looks fun. Living vicariously through y'all.
The RV magazine from 1987 is really cool, that is the year we started camping.
If your trailer starts fishtailing like that again give your trailer brake controller a squeeze to apply your trailer brakes only and it will straighten right out.
I love those old industrial magazine. I once got an manual of a 1950 dentists drill....unbelievable how much effort was put into those things back then. Abbie's fashion magazine from the 1800's I would laminate the pages to stop them falling apart.
Won’t play on any of my devices?
If I am not mistaken, the Marathon Motor Works you referenced is Mike and Frank's (the Pickers) Tennessee retail location. I've been there.

Love antiquing with you two!!
Enjoying watching
Thanks for the idea for old illustrations! If you find another old illustrated paper like the "DELINEATOR" please share! Awww I like your trip! :D
Worked for me. 👍🏼 Always enjoy your videos.
That's a really nice looking rv park. Nicely maintained
“Marathon Motorworks”……y’all passed the building, while on the interstate in Nashville, is the storefront owned by Mike Wolfe & American Pickers. Really Cool 😎 Please check it out sometime.

And, the “Pink Elephant” used to be located at a liquor store in Nashville for at least 30+ years….ahhhh!
Nice!! Scary trailer sway, thank goodness it went okay...:-) Nice finds...:-)
Love the trains.
Ok, lots of comments from me tonight, but oh well. Story time... I had traded a pop-up for a 29ft tt in 2015. My very first trip with the new "full sized" camper was through Atlanta on 85. It was raining so hard on the 6 ish lane highway I couldn't see much. I had never pulled anything bigger than a 12' pop-up at that point. I was definitely white knuckle driving that day. Meanwhile the wife and kids were freaking out.... just had to tell them to close their eyes and stop talking lol.
We were just in Hart county visiting family and ate at The Dog Pound hot dog place across from that Hampton in front of your campground. Lots of neat places in that area. Some neat little antique shops in Horse Cave also.
Every major highway across the states 10/70/80/90 have a R/R track, the worst camp ground is Wall S.D. the trains are never ending, all night every night. The fire starter was use for lighting the R/R signals prior to electricity. anything that you wanted to catch fire.
8 18 looks like a centerfuge
I grew up barely a mile from a significant Southern Pacific track. Freight train sounds don't disturb me; I almost miss them. Almost.

Grandparents lived next to railway tracks (30' away) I miss them and the train sounds
I've seen a few pink elephants in my time.
The dinosaur park there is pretty cool. I think you would like it.
Please keep that 1800's magazine Abby!... I have to confess....I kick myself now.... Back in 1992'ish, a oil company moved out of the building I worked in. They threw out hundreds of books from the 1930''s -40's of oilfield equipment. These book were 3 inches thick at least. Had all kinds of really neat trucks and oilfield equipment and tools. I salvaged a few, about 6 of them..... Long story short, a blip in my life, caused me to throw them which I really regret...DANG...I could have sent them to Abby LOL..... Sorry!... I should also mention. In 1989, I bought 2 of every news paper and combined(taped together) 3 LARGE scrap books, and pasted the Calgary Flames road to winning the Stanley Cup. Then got the players to autograph the news clippings..... Long story short...It's been stolen from me years ago.... If anyone knows / see's a scarp book like that.... ITS MINE...I want it BACK!!!....Im rambling on...Cheers, Blessings!.... Cool stuff Adam!!
Will not play for me as well.
Abby, you like maps, so do I. I am fascinated with borders and how easy or difficult it is to cross as well as the farms, homes, businesses and towns that might be there. I'm not only talking about official crossing points but any part of a border. ~~~~ Google maps is perfect for this to dive down and see what's going on with frequent surprises. An example is the Aroostook Valley Country Club (Map: 46.800487,-67.789412) where the club is exactly on the Maine/Canada border where a player could hit a ball from Canada into a house in the US. The history of how Canadians and Americans can get to the course is fantastic. Another one is the Haskell Free Library and Opera House with two addresses that straddles the Canadian/US border where one end of the building is in Canada and the other end in the US (Map: 45.005694,-72.097778).
Cannot get it to play
The secret about the best antique stores are very simple, they do not advertise and they are not located in places were you can find them easily, just like a good fishing spot, NOBODY will share their location. Trust me when you find them you will not tell anybody either.
Gosh you were near by. We are in Bowling Green ky. Eric
Can you swing over to Memphis and fix that bridge? lol Also Atlas Obscura is my go to for weird road side stuff. Enjoying watching this trip.
lol we stayed at the Grand Ole RV Park, Gooditsville, TN 25 mins from Nashville. We had trains, wasn't so bad.

Distance train whistles adds character to a camping evening. Those antiques were probably shipped by train to the small town general stores. Enjoy.
Parts cleaning basket.
If Abby wants to her books intact and use the pictures, she can scan them and use the soft copy. Just an idea
If ever travel to Indianapolis In .there are several antique stores .I highly recommend Indianapolis architectural antique store .Just one of the few sites to check out.
I wonder if those old shop teacher magazines have an ad for Peterson products.
That 80 RM do hicks is a centrifuge
there is a big outdoor flea market on the west side of 65 north of cave city that is open on weekends
I heard you say future homestead. Tell us your getting some property

Wonderful treasure hunting!!! So interesting to hear abbey’s interesting hobby . Is it the artwork that attracts you to the advertising, miss Abby???

Hi it’s Abby-I have taken over Adam’s phone-yes, I love the old artwork that went into those old advertisements! Since I am a graphic designer myself, I think it’s amazing what they accomplished then before computers. Catalogs I think are my favorite thing to hunt for!
It won’t play for me either
Big cast pot with the crank. Centrifuge. I wouldn't try cooking with it, no telling what may have been in there.
I have been looking for a froe for a while. There is one hanging in the first shop.
I have a PROPRIDE HITCH. Towing problems solved.
Looks like an old centrifuge

What I thought too. Maybe old time Pharmacy or some medical use?
Check out atlas obscura. Interesting stuff for areas you are going to.
Hi guys isn't that old Marathon factory that you pointed out at the start of the video in Nashville the Antique Archeology store owned by Mike Wolfe?
See if the cup florses in a lack light if it does it is old.
see if the half moon things will sit perfectly inside one of the cast iron pans against one side. "We're not going to be lighting any boilers with this thing"- Keith Rucker giving an angry glare.
Hi Adam and Abbey, great that you found some good antique shops to look through. I have a question for you please Let's say you have just put your caravan into a Caravan park AFTER PAYING the fees, you then decide to go out for a feed. When you come back your caravan is either missing/stolen or has been vandalised As you essentially left it in the care of the caravan park and paid the fees Who is libel for the damage or theft Obviously the perpetrators but the immediate compensation the caravan park or who? And have you considered this on your travels and have you covered yourself with insurance just in case?. Tony from Western Australia 🇦🇺
Won’t play for me either.
It plays but only in 360p?
Dinosaurs or antiques? Now that is a tough one to decide on. I say do both.
