Antibiotics for Respiratory Infections (Pneumonia, Sinus Infection, Otitis Media)
Learn which antibiotics are the best choice for respiratory infections and which should be avoided. How to treat bacterial respiratory infections like pneumonia, bacterial sinusitis, or otitis media? Should you use penicillins (amoxicillin, amoxicillin-clavulanate), cephalosporins, azithromycin, clarithromycin, or something else, and what is the logic behind that?
Every clinician has to be able to recognize life-threatening infections like sepsis and CNS infections right away! This free online course teaches you just that! If you work with patients, don't put this off! You will need what you learn in this course the very next shift!

I've been on Augmentin and Azithromycin for pneumonia and it's still not gone away. The fever has gone but the chest infection and pain still remain. Now we are trying doxycycline, I kind of feel like the doctors are just throwing things at random at me. But this video seems to go along with this course of treatment so maybe there is a method to the madness. Any other suggestions?
For pneumonia was given zpack and also told to add doxy should I?
Awesome 👏

Can we get a video on otitis media? Is it mainly viral or bacterial and best treatments. A video about antibiotic resistance would be great too. As in if someone takes an unneccesary course for a suspected bacterial infection but is actually viral then how resistant are they to become to that antibiotic then and in future situations? For example Co amoxiclav taken for 5 days then another 5 days or 14 days straight
Very helpful. Thank you. 🥸
