    The germans paid their war debt with a vast losses of land to France, Poland, Czech republic and Russia. Approximately, 15 million Germans were ethnically cleansed fron Eastern Europe and returned to Germany. These people owned farms, businesses and property. The expelled Germans received nothing in return. The victims of Germany's crimes were paid billions and billions of Deutch marks as reparations. So @esso9527 study your history. Germans who had no actual responsibility for WW2 paid a heavy price.

    I went on the Birthrite trip nearly a decade ago, thinking it's a nice thing, a free trip over seas. I had a good time and met some great people, but left not knowing the whole story. They took us to the closet settlement to Gaza, showed us concrete, bus stop looking, rocket barriers, told us about the progression of homemade rockets coming out of Gaza, and how Hammas was starving the population and turning them against Israel. They tried to paint it like Israel was fighting Hammas on behalf of the Gazans... Fortunately, I learned the whole the story, but many people I know who also went on the trip (or didn't), are set in their ways and refuse to hear any different. As an American jew, it's sick discovering the birthrite trip is brainwashing, and so was a lot of Hebrew school. I'm glad I ditched that shit after my Barmitzvah.

Social media has been a blessing in this regard as you can’t tell people all the graphic videos of what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank is made up. There is so, so much content. I am blown away by the courage and determination of all the college students protesting for Palestinian rights on their college campuses. I would’ve never dreamed this movement would be so big 20 years ago. I agree with you, though, I wish the price wasn’t so high.

    I've been reading some things on life on Israel lately and hearing a lot about how aggression and self interest are cultural bedrocks- stuff about how people are always arguing, always yelling at each other, aggressive driving and constant horn honking, nobody gets in line and push and shove each other out of the way, slamming doors for no reason, perpetual noise and conflict, extremely demanding work culture, low wages and everything overpriced so no one has a chance to get ahead a lot of racism and people being completely unashamed to say shocking, hateful things- my theory is that Israel as a society is functioning with a collective trauma brain, everyone is in permanent fight or flight mode with emphasis on the fight part. Like your survival depends on "winning" and not cooperation.

    How about instead fear & indoctrination is being used ala the SS & early rise of the 3rd Reich. Pit neighbor against neighbor & let them do the dividing of people for you. United they would stand & divided, their children are required to go into military indoctrination at 18 while being taught another whole race aren't even human, rather a pestilence to be cleansed. If you compare the old propaganda methods you know who used to dehumanize & indoctrinate, even against their own people who disagree with them, you will see very chilling parallels. My hubby worked in restaurant business through his teens and twenties. He has worked at top notch multi-star restaurants in Toronto. He said that he's seen his share of mafiosi, racists and all kinds of criminal behaviour happen behind the scenes. And it became clear to him, as it would to anyone else that would have the opportunity to observe an endless stream of people, that the most racist people without question, hands down, were always the jevvish. Don't shoot the messenger. Also I had one jevvish person admit to as much, albeit in a very careful manner. The rest only seem to victimize themselves and cry crocodile tears. Sorry, but there's a reason why bias and prejudice exists. For example: I'm russian, and albeit I never drank in my life I don't get insulted with "drunk russian" jokes because it is true that many russians drink like fish. If you want to be treated with respect and humility you can't walk around bullying others and expect people not to notice... Just sayin...

    Like it or hate it as a concept, Israel has been around for all of our lives. North Americans by-and-large would have turned a blind eye to it if he had stopped expanding and this war had never started. But that’s the thing about colonialism, it can’t ever stop. Like any stock or fund on Wall Street, it relies on more land and resources / profit and growth to remain viable. And like our capital market, its qualities and rules that helped it grow at the rate it did are now threatening its existence

    If you look at a map of pre-WW2 Europe by numbers of Jews, Poland had about 3 million, USSR 2.5 million (mostly in Ukraine and Belarus, which along with Poland were as a result of Tsarist Russia's 'Pale of Settlement'), Romania 1 million, and Germany & Hungary 500,000 each. These were the places where the Jews suffered the most casualties of the Holocaust. By contrast, Britain only had 300,000 and France 200,000, most of whom stayed in those countries and did not move to Israel. Israel is really a UK project to resettle the Jewish population in anywhere but the UK. And just like the rest of its Empire, the UK handed power over it to the US.

  • @omarks

    @omarks

    26 күн бұрын

    @@Pine_Gap_Island Bit of a logic fail here. Britain has had a vibrant and stable Jewish population for centuries with no efforts made to 'resettle', unlike Germany who cut the Havaara deal with the Zionist National Congress to encourage Jewish immigration to the middle east from Germany. Post WW1/Ottoman empire Britain was tasked with developing Palestine, France with the Lebanon with the intent to modernize for independence. There were pro and anti factions for the then nascent Zionist nationalist movement in GB. Sadly mass Zionist immigration and terrorism overwhelmed the British, who had built out the modern infrastructure (sewers, trains, roads, electrical grid etc) and after WWII exhausted and bankruoted they handed off the unstable situation to the then new UN. The intent was to create three areas within Palestine: a Jewish area, an international religious zone controlled by the un and of course Palestine for the indigenous semitiic jews, christians and arabs. Sadly the Zionists overwhelmed this intent and took over the entire area.

    Two wrongs don’t make a right. I’d personally like to see everyone take life into their own hands, not participate in fanatic religious ideologies - that have some agenda beyond providing education or empowering the individual to be self-sufficient and community-minded. This is intentional societal disturbance. To confuse, distract, deter. An educated person doesn’t need a group of people or another individual to make decisions for them. Given the ability to educate for making a better decision, should not extend into or be controlling that decision. Neither influence - or bribe. Free will should be a world-wide protected right. Yet, here we are. People using fear, murder, theft, dishonesty. I’m with John Lennon when he asks “can you imagine a world…” That rhetoric, because it’s hard to imagine when the obvious reality check hits you. No matter the effort put towards that, it is always torn down by someone, or group of people. You just keep pushing forward, lead through example - and over seemingly decades of time, will we see a change in society. Each and every day is one step forward to that “imaginary world”.
