I was much worried about my Sienna 4000FD fishing reel, Anti-Reverse system was not working at all, but your very detailed and specific workshop helped me to find out the exact problem. The sleeve inside the clutch was upside down. Your cooperation in this regard is highly appreciated.

First guy that knows the best way to reassemble the anti reverse mechanism, brilliant Tom.

8 year later and your video is still helping. They have discontinued these on my Shimano Saros 3000fa so you saved my entire reel. Not sure how you figured it out but cheers to those who are smarter than the rest of us, and take time to make a video!!

I dropped my Stradic Ci4 reel into the creek. It wasn't as smooth as usual, so I took it apart, cleaned and lubed it up. When I put it back together the anit-reverse didn't work. I followed your instructions step by step and now it's good as new. Thank you very much.

Hey, thanks for the hands on demo on doing this! Saved me $25 because I was a minute away from buying a whole new assembly because the breakdown only showed the whole part. Thank you! My surf rod got knocked over and my Shimano Baitrunner 12000D reel got injected with half the sand on the beach. Took it apart, cleaned all the sand out, re-greased it, and the anti-reverse wouldn't work. Found this video and it's back like new. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much, i was Following your instructions but didn't pay atention to the little twist at moment to put the top lid of the clutch...had to see your video again, did the little twist to the cap of the clutch and voila !! 👌👌👍👍

Just got a shimano biomaster reel from my friend and immedietly clean it up..after cleaning and greasing some parts, i wonder why the anti reverse not working..so i search videos and luckily i saw your great, informative, helpful video..thanks for sharing sir...well done

Great video, many thanks, it can't be stressed enough that if suddenly after servicing your ant-reverse 'just stopped working' to check you have that tapered spacing collar the right way up as you point out at the end ! That alone can save you having to dis-assemble the whole anti-reverse mechanism as it will make the anti-reverse only work when the reel is pointing down! if at all ! Keep up the good work Tom !

Thx. This help me degrease the anti reverse assembly on my Sienna 2500. I was "that guy" that greased everything...

Thanks greatly for this video. It saved me sending my Twinpower 8000PG back to Japan for a service. I'd made the mistake of loosening the two screws holding the whole anti-reverse block together and the springs had popped out of the right alignment when I put them back in.

I was trying to reassemble this on my Sienna, went through several different ways of, assembling it, and eventually found this video. Turns out, I had it right one of the times, but my way of testing if the anti-reverse was activating or not was flawed. I thought you could test if it was activating by turning the pinion manually, but apparently you have to actually have the rotor and handle on to check (for the Sienna at least). Thank you for helping me make sure I got it right though, this would’ve been great for me to see before I spent over half an hour trying out all the other configurations. 😂

Thanks so much for this -- great help just at the right time! Unfortunately looks like I'll need to replace mine. Just too much rust damage on the rollers from neglect (used reel).

Thanks for this. After reassembling my Saragosa, the reel was going in reverse despite it being a "Stoperless" design. I must not have lined up something properly - probably the springs. I didn't full disassemble the anti-reverse mechanism but I had to have moved something out of position/alignment. I'll open the reel again, and using your video, hopefully be able to remedy the problem.

Thank you!!! I dissasembled my clutch and could not get it to work again. Happens to be that i installed the springs behind the rollers instead of in front of them. Simple thing that made it not work.

Had to do this myself on my shimano stradic ci4 1000 hg. Was a bit fiddly but managed to sort it. Make sure you have a small pair of tweezers or something similar. And another point is DO NOT GREASE THIS. As the grease will clog the springs and they wont work properly. Just use a small drop of oil.
