    Firework launcher, flairs for amo and stick it onto a custom turret made to track enemy players, have them between to rover wheels and have them auto active when the suspension or wheels take a set amount of damage

    You could use a sensor to start a timer block countdown that waits a short time before closing and locking the first door and activating the flare-go-round

    I want to see many flare launchers setup to fire staggered and from an aircraft to get the look of modern military decoy launches. Also if these are WP flares they would totally be this lethal.

    A Flare/Firework turret seems useful to have with it distracting the enemy along with turrets that target missiles with them being unable to tell what's what when being shot at.

    Fireworks would be better in the rover set up, because getting the away is mor important than killing them in that situation.

    You could also use this for breaching buildings/large ships by ramming the launcher into a door or hole in the building and launching flares inside, then sending a group of people in after, ensuring that nobody can surprise them at the entrance

    The Cleaner/launcher combo can be used to clear a main hallway in a base or on a ship spinal if designed with one. If there is any IFF tagging you could have them just ping pong back and forth ready to fill the entire hall with some flares.

    Also you should try and make a anti missile defense shield with the fireworks and try it on standard missiles and modded tracking missiles

    Depending on the damage the flares do to armour blocks maybe you could do some form of breach drone to help board ships as an alternative to a grinder, it latches on to the enemy vessel makes a hole then either player can rush in and/or it releases some smaller drone to cause chaos inside

    a blast door casing would hid these well til its too late; but at that point you might as well have like 3 of these in a room and have them cut the room in half when they deploy. confused, separated, and facing 3 turrets that have rng on their side. its not their ship so if they brought missiles and are on the ball they might all survive.

    To prevent anyone standing on top of the floor trap from surviving you just need make it rise to the height of the ceiling. Anyone on top would either be knocked off or crushed. I also think as an anti personnel weapon it would be best to use the firework/flare launchers in combination with interior turrets. The ricochet ability of the flares means that even areas out of the turret's line of sight are dangerous and makes finding cover much harder for an enemy.

    This seems lije a brilliant tool for shooting into blind corners. Get a couple launchers to fire into an angled corner and a sensor and youve got a deathtrap without return fire. Assuming it gets enough distance after the first bounce to still kill a player.

    An interesting thing would be to do an offensive antipersonnel weaponry like if you have an enemy base you could send a fast drone in there covered in flare launchers and have it just go off

    Equipped that fireworks launcher to an ai drone, linked to defensive ai. When the defensive ai triggers "locked on by enemy", it shoots the flares. Just to imitate decoys.

    Okay, here's an idea: How about a firework/flare artillery? It gets welded up, and launched towards the enemy that are far away, running around their base outside. It's a disruption weapon. It'll cause trouble, but won't decimate their base, thereby slowing down their progress, and giving your team more time to progress ahead or catch up. Just set the artillery piece on auto-fire.

    The fix on the hall clearer is easy, if it dispensed from the ceiling you could lower it to the floor and that would crush anyone beneath.

    I personally recommend using a large grid armor plate in a set position over the hole then put a magnet on top of your tower, then remove the support for that armor plate and let the magnet keep it, perfectly aligned.

    Or, hear me out here, put a few interior turrets in the room. Maybe even behind some hidden panels if you want to keep the aesthetic. It'll be 10x more effective and won't need a player there to run.

    these are interesting i like that the need to manually reload adds a sort of balance but i do think maybe giving them a bit more ammo would be good i made an anti personell turret for ship interiors and a sort of flack cannon turret for attacking fighters which works by layering small firework launchers to increase ammo capacity

    The flare gun has illuminated (heh) a long standing issue with Space Engineers: The player character cannot take physical impacts very well. Whether it be flare guns or just jet-packing around one's base, there is nothing more hazardous to a player than running into something too fast. I feel as though they need to rethink how much damage the player can take from said impacts, as well as how quickly the player character can get up to those deadly speeds.

    Or just add code to the dampeners so it slows you down you before you hit something. Jetpacking should be hard but it's just annoying right now.

    you could make a little remote controlled car with a turret on top that you can drive around your base/ship/rover to take out enemies without leaving the comfort of your home

    Next you should try to make offensive weapon systems with the flare/firework launchers. Like maybe a bomber craft where the whole bomb bay section is just the launchers aimed down and you fly over an enemy base and just rain fireworks down on them.

    Don't flares also distract turrets set to target missiles? Could be useful on a drone/missile that spews flares on approach as a force multiplier for missiles.

    if someone instanced this Flare launcher, set the accuracy of the Gun to straight and increase the firing speed. One could mod a Laser Flare. could you imagine the carnage.

    Now I’m gonna put flares in firework launchers on my ships for when they crash. Also I wonder how effective flares would be at screening missiles🤔 Edit/update: the flares, as far as i can tell, cannot hit fired missiles from launchers; but can hit and detonate armed warheads. So it’s not entirely off the table in terms of space combat countermeasures.

    I would prefer if keen removes the instadeath and adds a 1% chance of breaking lock per flare. Hopefully they're just memeing until the next update

    When loaded with flares, the launcher can only be fired for 10 rounds before overheating, slowing down with each shot, and each shot lasts progressively longer and longer. The last flare burns brightly for 1 minute, and each flare has a 1% chance of spawning a temporary "flare launch" global hud marker, revealing the users position for 50km.

    Obviously servers would need an option to remove or limit the number of flare launchers per ship/per person, and remove the marker or lighting functionality.

    What a weird direction this game took. I remember the early days, long before planets or AI, when the game was actually good. The devs were hesitant on adding more weapons or hostile AI as it wasnt the direction they wanted to take the game, where they wanted a game based on engineering in space, not a space combat game. In the end they caved to the demand, and here we are.

    2010s space engineers was literally all about making weapons though. It was all gravity guns and piston drive stuff. There's not much else to do in space but build ships to mine or blow things up. KSP added science and SE tried economy, but there isn't much fun or risk involved in either of those. There's a reason sailors were always drunk or fighting back in the day
