Punk is about the message of the band, not about how hard the guitars are or how pissed of they sound. The clash has lots of soft songs but they're the godfathers of punk

the clash were very average, im aware of the legacy they left behind and the impact, but there are far better punk bands out there, even ones inspired by them, done it better, like stiff little fingers, the vibrators, crass, peter and the test tube babies, etc etc, are all far better bands..not saying the clash isnt good..just very overrated (Yes im aware your comment is 5yrs old)

Seen these guys back in 04' in Hollywood, at the Henry Ford theater. One of the funnest shows I have ever been to, to this day. I love punk shows, they're so much fucking fun.

And it's not like he or anyone else invented Punk by scrapping a previously clean image.. well maybe that's metaphorically almost how it all started, but anyway.. Guess your next comment will be that the guys in green day where ''original'', sure they where talented from the beginning.. but there's been soo much more music leading up to that point.. I loved the old Green Day records because they delivered the natural message of any person with eyes open to the world.. There's a lot of bands and people who live like so.. thank nature for Anti-Flag..

They never wrote anything about Davey Havok. Davey Destroyed the Punk Scene was released in 1995. AFI released their first EP in 93, first album album in 1995. The song has nothing to do with him

I saw these guys in April, and I was so disappointed. What happened to them? I mean they look like Hot Topic threw up all over them. They didn't put on half the show they used to. They just kind of teeny-bopped around on stage. These guys aren't punk anymore, I would classify them more as pop, and that's being generous. Definitely still fun to listen to, but so very far away from the real thing. If you want punk, listen to the Casualties, the Krum Bums, Street Dogs, The Unseen, the Briggs, etc.

I liked their old stuff and I love their latest stuff.... whats important is the message is still there

Awesome band, saw them with rise against and flobots in febuary and they put on a right show, was awesome :)

Their music got this pop touch, and Anti Flag's music has more elements of real punk in it. Sell outs are Greenday and Good Charlotte. Blink182 have not become sell outs because they splitted up, but their way was the same like Greenday and Good Charlotte.

Anti-Flag is from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, USA. Justin Sane does admittedly have a slightly UK sounding accent, but he sounds mostly American.

So, they're cool, especially they're earlier albums (They sound similar to the Offspring, in my opinion!!). And in Anti-Flag's song, I hear some Rage Against the Machine influence! selling out doesn't mean becoming more appealing to more people. That's just smart playing. I hate people that hate their favourite bands after they sign on to a label. Living as an artist is insanely hard, and no one wants to sleep in a van their entire lives. Becoming bigger, while still playing what you love isn't selling out. Signing a commercial for the soul purpose of cash is...unless you're in debt for cleveland smashing your guitar through the stage...then it's justified :p

That's exactly what their fighting against, they don't want anyone to suffer through that horror... They're not trying to act macho saying they could tough out a war, they're trying to fight against the injustice of the war and make sure no one has to experience that terror.
