You had me crying and (sorry) laughing. I'm grateful for your retelling. I know it will help someone out there going through similar situations. But how you just take charge and dont let the tour guide steal your vacation is strength with in. I live to see strength with in come out!❤

The dresser is beautiful - though the white one you sold was my favorite!! That was the trip from hell. I'm glad Zeb was there because he seems like nothing ruffles him. I've not been lucky enough to go on many vacations but many years ago (20+) my late husband's work sent him to Atlanta for training and paid for me to go too. We live in California and our flight to SF got delayed because of rain and were rerouted to LAX which caused us to miss our connection to Atlanta. So by the time we got there it was midnight and everything was closed. The car rental shops were closed and our luggage was lost or delayed. Luckily, his boss was already there and he had to come and pick us up. We get to the hotel and they had given our room away!! So they took us to another hotel across the way for one night and then we were going to go back to the original hotel the next day. That is I was supposed to do all of it. I don't think we went to bed until 3 or 4 am. Hubs had to be at class early. So he went and got a rental car and dropped it off for me. I think I went back to sleep. When I got up I was so disoriented. I called to the front desk to pick up our luggage. When I opened the door for him I realized we were on the first floor - that's how out of it I was!! Once checked out I had to find the car. I didn't know the make or anything about the car - I'm sure he told me but - I think I was jet lagged our something. Anyway - I finally found it and made my way over to the first hotel and got us all settled in. This was before we had cell phones. I managed to do some sight-seeing by myself while he was in training and managed to make it back to the hotel without GPS!! The rest of the trip was fun but getting there was a doozy!!

Debi, I know that making and editing videos is not your favorite thing to do but watching your videos are the favorites of many! I have told so many people about your channel and they all LOVE how you tell a story and play music intertwined with whatever piece you are working on. You have a gift for this. Nobody else I follow had been able to pull it off. There is not one person who would start watching one of your videos and not stay with it until the end. And only you have this ability to hold someone’s interest with no boring parts! Please put them up as often as you can. They are so unbelievably good!!

I had watched Diane from the Paint Factory's video, about this same topic. ( trip to France with same tour guide, that went horribly wrong). As i was listening to your story, i realized that this is the SAME person that Diane had referred to. The arrogance of this woman, the pure unadulterated arrogance, is shocking. Completely irresponsible on her part. Did she not see the "once in a lifetime" opportunity that was laid at her feet? She was gifted with a group of You Tube influencers with over 100,000 subscribers each. She could had pulled out all the stops and created a truly epic experience. She could have survived for years off of the revenue, from subsequent tours, made on you and your traveling companions recommendations. Remember the fairy tale about the goose that laid the golden eggs? this woman, killed her golden goose. Glad you are back stateside. I am so happy that no one got hurt or injured as a result of this woman's negligence.

I watched this and it was so bittersweet. It's hard to convey in words the character of this 'tour guide' - I'll leave it to the legal system to handle her. The sad part is that, we too, only had one day to see France (and that was only because it was the day AFTER the tour ended). Your videos always warm my heart while making me laugh knowing I'm not alone in my uniqueness. I have been blessed to have gone on several trips outside the U.S. with a REAL tour guide. I am wondering after the nightmare you and your friends endured with that awful scammer do you think you may go back to France? Knowing what you know now having been through such an awful situation I’m sure you gained a good bit of knowledge on the do’s and do not’s when planning and taking a trip to France... P.S. Despite this being such a bad trip, there are some positives. First, the pics you took of Paris are BEAUTIFUL! Can't wait to see Versailles (sp?). Second, you were able to take matters into your own hand and make the best of a bad situation. Third, what an amazing group of friends you all are.... so fortunate to have had each other there! Again, thanks for sharing your stories and of course your beautiful makeover. Just love your channel!

I’m sorry the trip came out like that Deb.. I was young when I went and all my experience was spectacular. I’m wishing to go back real soon. Since my dad is gone it’s all I think of. Have a blessed day doll 🙏🏽🌺🌷💐🌷🌺💐🇫🇷♥️🙏🏽

Lesson from your story is: if a unreliable person is showing, you can't trust them, don't designate them big thing like showing you where to turn in airport, otherwise they have huge power over you! Sending love from Chicago.

The dresser is amazing. I have a large armoire that I haven't done yet. That I have often thought of taking a tree trunk up the side and having it drape down but wasn't quite sure how I was going to do it I wanted the tree trunk is raised and then thought about hand painting the leaves and stuff in on it. Thanks for posting Love the ideas now I just got to get to it.

Debi, I loooove the dresser! You’ve done it again. Creative genius just flows from your fingers. You my dear are so strong for standing up for yourself, sister and friends to that woman. I know you felt responsible for all that mess. Please know it wasn’t your fault. You were duped. My husband and I took a cruise to Cuba and had a very bad experience with a handsome cab driver. Needless to say he charged us much more than he quoted at the end of the ride. Confusion anger and a that feeling of being had was evident. I did not want to get back off the ship the next day. But my husband did so we strolled and shopped instead. Lesson learned the hard way. Thank God you had Zeb along!! I am like Jami I too only cry once a year. I feel that situation you all were in warranted it. Poor things. You all made the best of it and the memories of a lifetime. That’s the stuff you remember more than if it had went as planned. Bonjour!

UGH....Deb I love love love your talent & creative ideas but watching these videos with all the things that went wrong really puts a damper on my enjoyment of your delightful imagination. Unexpected surprises (good or bad) is all part of the travel adventure, you just have to go with it and make the best of a crappy situation. As a watcher of your videos, I'd appreciate less of the "woe is me" aspect & more of what went great, what gave you inspiration. There are always kinks in even the best laid plans but I can sit & reflect on my own life for that, I come to your channel to be uplifted & inspired. Please consider lifting up your viewers instead of bringing us down. With love.

I am speechless! First, that piece is “magnifique”. Sorry if that brings on a PTSD episode☹️ I’ve been following all your stories about France and am flaberghasted that there was mire content!!! Holy cow, this woman should re-brand her business to “Trip to Hell”. My jaw dropped when you described the escalator domino effect. All I can say is that you all deserve a true trip to that amazing country. Get back on the horse and plan that winderful experience. Love you Deb, you and all the others are real troopers❤️
