I had never voted in midterm elections before this year. And I am definitely one of the people he is describing who had Trump on their mind. I used to vote Republican, but this time I voted only Democrat, specifically because of how disgusting Trump is. To all the Trump-lovers out there reading this: disagree with me all you want, hate on me all you want, but it won't change my ballot, so why waste your time?
RANK-CHOICE VOTING✊ FOR ALL
As important as it is to vote, why not have elections on Saturday. I know not everyone is off, but more people are. Schools are closed already for polling places. I think more people would likely participate. Unless you WANT to make voting harder to do
You've _got_ to take advantage of an opportunity to _vote._ Sure, it gives you a say in how you are governed, but it's also what keeps you _registered_ to vote in _subsequent_ elections.
Nice nails boss! Looking fabulous!
I must say, Americans proved me wrong by actually voting. Hopefully your youth won't forget what happens when you don't vote.

it was 49% of elegible voters, not even half of them..Not many reasons to be proud of, actually.

We need to start doing what Australia does and fine people for not voting. It's only like $20 but it will help.

Yes more youth voted at midterms but it was still ridiculously low.

I like how Jon Batiste adds Blue Rondo a la Turk 2:11-2:13
"Where Did You Get This Number?" Is the title supposed to mean "How did you arrive at this conclusion?" or "How did you get my PHONE number?"
I wish this interview was longer.
Is the USA still a democracy? Or a commercial representation of a democracy?

No country has a true democracy, just as no country has ever been completely socialist or communist (even the USSR).

@@BlackEpyon any country that elects, or tries to elect leaders in a true democracy is usually crushed by a powerful country like the U.S. Powerful countries cannot allow true democracies to spread elsewhere. consider the U.S. backed installation of dictator Pinochet after the U.S. made sure Allende was booted out. Happens all the time.

Caveman Lee: I see it more as a moral and righteous rejection of everything he is and represents.
Did anyone notice Colbert's nail polish at 3:18? Blue. Was he cosplaying Lord of the Rings again?
Wait... out doing other things... is he trying to call Millennials on landlines??
"Do people tell the truth?" Ha-ha-ha
Did anyone else notice that Stephen has his right hand finger nails painted in a bluish green, almost cyan colour ?
Anthony Salvanto made the point that the president wasn't on the ballot BUT he was on people's minds. The title of the video suggests the opposite of what he was trying to convey.

An interesting contrast of colors: Orange county CA turns blue to counterbalance an orange president in the White House.
Colbert: "Do people tell the truth?" Salvanto: "Yes they do" I wonder if he has heard of The Bradley effect, just saying.
Anthony Salvanto has obviously not seen Kimmel's Lie Witness News.

John Di Francisco I thought about that too
change the title
The systematic polling error is that 90% tell the pollster to FO. Then half of those who answer don't care, or know anything about politics. Even the Trump trolls are 90% ignorant.
yeah yeah, this was interesting and all... but i want to know the story behind the teal fingernail polish at 3:18

From the Millie Bobby Brown interview. She painted Stephen's Nails For UNICEF.
"What is the hardest group to poll? Who are the hardest people to pin down?" I heard exactly those questions on a PornHub Qn'A just last Friday...
they are like yes young people are hard to find, yes because we are out working multi jobs or long hours just to afford to live, most young people dont have time to answer polls
Yeah a lot of eye you have attention deficit disorder they can't really keep on pass I've noticed that they always trying to multitask when they can barely do One X 💯
So short. Rushed. Come on! We can do better than that!
Is he talking out of habit or out of touch? Young people are hard to reach because "they might not be home to pick up the phone" ?
A stunningly dull interview and I imagine the book to give a similar vibe
FFS - these segments are so short you've got no time to get into _any_ aspects of a story: - does young people being hard to poll make them under-represented in policy? - are there finer divisions of age groups that are distinct but fall between traditional age divisions? Kids starting school on/after 9/11 will be 21 now : people old enough to serve in Iraq 2 will be 34 now. Come on - give time to the important things - at least give just 2 more minutes to follow one thread a little further
