    He says, "I felt jealous and wanted to learn." So many people when they see another who is better at something, just want to hurt the other person, lol. This guy has a real, genuine good spirit. That's what produces great people. Love him.

    That was Anthony Gatto's dad, also his juggling coach. I think he knew what he was talking about when he said that, because he saw Anthony doing those things. Also, there are some people called instant jugglers who learn really fast e.g. Brian Koening, Freddy Sheed. So it is possible for someone to just know how to do 5 balls and not really have to learn it. Rare, but possible.

    I just stumbled unwittingly in the cross hairs of the bliss/garfield/gatto stuff this morning. Everyone and all their supporters are like a bunch of lead guitar players bragging @ high noon. Someone just get out and help people with their groceries, or open a door for an elderly person, or clean your floors. You want to see juggling? I can balance my chequebook while ordering coffee. Bliss will always be the people's favorite for his humanity, not his facility. I say this as an entertainer.

    Incredible skills. Much respect. I wouldn't use words like 'undisputed' though :p Performance Skills and Juggling Skills go hand-in-hand in my opinion. This guy is the best technical juggler I have ever seen, and has the best juggling skills I have ever seen. But I wouldn't say that he's the best juggler I've ever seen. Its all relative.

    @speedproductions797 I agree with some of your conclusions and would like to close myself with this: Garfield is more technical than Gatto in some ways, just as Gatto is more technical than Garfield in some ways. With most jugglers there are certain areas where they are better than other jugglers. You have presented many excellent points that have challenged me in this debate. You were a very worthy opponent; take care, I wish you well.

  • @speedproductions797
    @speedproductions79713 жыл бұрын

    @Juggler1097 Good point, but my point is that the environment surrounding each record needs to be very specific (and official). For example, as I stated earlier, isolated endurance vs. freestyle random-jumping-around endurance makes a huge difference. Juggling is now an official sport on ESPN, so to earn the title as worlds best juggler for a specific juggling routine, you must be graded by highly technical juggling standards, as in the WJF. Garfield is a better technical juggler by a little

  • @tuerda

    @speedproductions797 What an interesting, mature, and lively discussion. Rarely have I seen such a thing on youtube! I will jump in here by pointing out that although Anthony Gatto does not participate in the WJF, it is more or less agreed upon that he would win if he did (even Thomas Deitz agrees). Of course there will never be solid proof until he enters, but he does not care. He is a performer, not a sportsman. I do not think he wants to be judged as one.

    @Juggler1097 That's interesting, we are juggling based on different criteria. Well, I have been very specific with my thesis on comparing technical/sport-juggling. The WJF is the ultimate grading system for that. You have made some great points about your more broad thesis, but there is evidence of my thesis, (same for yours). The final answer is that I just think the WJF is more official, its like the Olympics. You have a very strong point though, I think Garfield may have 11 ball record

    I wasn't saying juggling was any less worthy than kicking a ball around a field. they are different skills, but skills nonetheless. i just find it amusing that this is the type of thing that makes someone a 'star'. fair enough being recognised as the best at something is a worthy pursuit, but its the sport stars and jugglers being more famous than, i dont know, scientists or diplomats or whatever that riles me.
