Anthony Edwards was the breakout star for USA at the World Cup but an ex-teammate is already saying he needs to be traded. How serious is that statement and what does Minnesota have to do to keep their young superstar?

Let's be real. If the Warriors didn't put the right pieces around Steph, he would have been gone. Star players like Dirk who stay one team their entire career are by far the exception. Most of the other one team players had continuous success over their career. Just look at Giannis' comments recently. If Minnesota can put the right pieces, something they have failed to do for basically their entire history, Ant could be the true franchise superstar. If not, they may just be the next Wizards or Blazers in perpetual mediocrity.

4:08 Its gonna be interesting to see how much the Warriors fall off after Curry. Its easy to be popular globally when winning titles. But can they be top 3 globally while being a bad or average team like the Lakers have? Lakers have had multiple dynasties , Warriors will likely need to do it at least one more time with a completely different roster. Which isnt easy, as the Bulls found out

Warriors are on the decline. Curry, at 35 yrs old, is still elite but on the decline. Klay is unraveling from being a 2nd option before to be just a third option or even a sixth man. Green is still ok but getting old. Wiggs is not the same but still solid as third option. Kuminga is their saviour and should play heavy minutes so that the Dubs will have continuity if Klay leaves. Poole trade was ok since he was a third option anyway. CP3 trade was bad because he's actually should be in the bench even in the Suns.

@@beli722 well, then the franchise has to do a better job of 1) evaluating talent, 2) setting up the roster to build around that 1 or 2 all-star caliber player and 3) hire good staff to bring the most of out of these players in that short window. But as you already know, small markets teams typically don't handle these three very well. As mentioned in the video, Wolves made several bad trades. This will not only set the franchise back for years but AE will eventually will leave once he gets that max contract and you will barely be back to build a roster around him but why would AE wait for that. It all comes down to the coaching staff, manager(s), GMs and team owners that are not making the right decisions. Big market teams have a lot of room to work with even if they mess up but teams like Wolves, zero. That's why it's better to just start from scratch like the Thunder and let them develop together and be on the same page as far as their peak horizon. Wolves should just be thankful that they found AE. If I was the GM, I would get rid of everyone and get 1 or 2 really good players or start from scratch. Being mediocre is worse than being the worst team in the league.

I agree that KAT does need to be traded. I was hoping he would be this off-season. Also, Minnesota's lack of winning isn't strictly because of the fact they're a small market team, but overall because of their location. Minneapolis is just undesirable to live in not because of the late May 2020 riots, but the fact it gets way too cold there during the winter, the season when most of the NBA games are happening. I'm pretty sure that's why the Lakers who use to play there relocated to Los Angeles.

For them what Miami is offering for Dame (a coming off injury Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, presumably Kyle Lowry and 2-3 FRP + swaps) is insulting, but they don't think it's worth trading for KAT (sure, he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but pairing him with Dame could've worked - you never know)? And now, I think I will side with Dame on his trade demand - he's done more than enough for this clueless franchise which time and time again was failing him with dubious and perhaps Portland's front office should receive zilch from Miami. And they'll do the same with Scoot Henderson.

TC believes in the team he built in Denver and believes they will be thw class of the league for the next few years. Gobert KAT and Ant is a team that can handle Jokic... but AM hoops is just like Pat only focuses on the big markets... he was anti nuggets all last season and never gave j9kic the credit for the 2 mvp's... am hoops doesn't watch small market teams.

Was about to post something similar but will just say you mostly hit the nail on the head. Absolutely TC knew the West is going through Jokic/Nuggets for the foreseeable future and made the Gobert trade for that reason. The Wolves gave as much or more trouble to the Nuggets as the Suns or Lakers and all gave more than the Heat. AE was great. But the Nuggets are way more than Jokic and, barring injury, should handle anything thrown at them the next few years.

The wolves lost in the first round - to Denver. If the twolves can have better seeding, they’ll get out of the 1st round. KAT missed 50 games last season, the wolves were only 1 of 3 teams in the west to have a winning record vs teams .500 or better Rudy was not bad for the wolves, and was better once they got rid of DLo for Conley

I think they might need to get rid of KAT because his attitude with a lot of stuff is not good for a locker room And I agree with you. Rudy was actually quite Good. Their interior defense Improved several fold and there's some rising stars in their perimeter defense as well. The offense is a little shaky though

I just think there's a problem from the bottom up with their team construction. Idk man. Its probably just my personal bias but I REALLY tried to give a shit about the Twolves these past 2 seasons but no matter how exciting some of those guys are, namely Ant, others are like watching fuckin paint dry and it leads to these weird inconsistencies in their energy. Its like half the roster want that Miami dog attitude and the other half wanna be the spurs and play straight up clean team basketball

Going to LA or New York is bad for him, He should do it to other underrated teams if it's not in Minnesota coz in LA He just gonna be a kinda shadow of other former NBA star of LA. Be like Steph is the best feeling to be an NBA star on today's NBA or The Joker itself.
