Anthem may be the longest / most consistent top tier metal band from Japan. Galneryus would be up there along side them too. It would be really worth your time to watch at least one of Anthem's studio filmed sessions as it clearly highlights the difference between them and most of their peers. If you need another Japanese band from the 80s to react to, I highly recommend Seikima-II. They are more famous in Japan than Loudness or Anthem. The vocalist Demon Kogure is something special. His voice is just so damn fitting for their theatrical style of metal. Fire After Fire, Big Time Changes and Stainless Nights are all good introductions to the band. Ganbatte!

Just a bit of a fun fact Anthem is actually considered as the Judas Priest of Japan and most of their albums were produced by Chris Tsangarides the same person who produced Judas Priest's Sad Wings of Destiny and Painkiller.

Finally ‼️Anthem and Loudness are the top 2 metal bands in Japan. Personally I think Yukio Morikawa is the best metal singer in Japan . Eizo Sakamoto was ex singer of Anthem but Yukio Morikawa is much better. Pls check The Artery song, Shine on, Black vampire.

Good choice! It is a mature band in a good sense. I think metal fans in their 50 s to 40 s including me can understand their sound.

Anthem are old school Japanese metal like Loudness and E-Z-O (both worth checking out if you don't already know them). . I bought their self titled first LP back around 1985, as it was released on Metal Blade/Restless. They reminded me of Accept back then (the music, not the vocals). They have a bunch of great albums.

@@hopsmetalshow3413 I had actually seen your Loudness reaction before, but I forgot you guys did it. I think they got passed on (in the West) due to their silly lyrics and the way the singer sang them, but later on they hired an American singer and put out a few killer albums in the early 90s (1991's On the Prowl is highly recommended), but not too many people cared by that time.

Check out Floor's operatic voice on the song "Vilja Lied" that she just performed on the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers 2019. It is a tribute song to Henk Poort, her opera idol who also performed on the Beste Zangers (Best Singers) 2019 show. "Vilja Lied" was the first song performed on the show to open this season, and at the time, the other 6 performers on the show were not familiar with Floor or Nightwish, since metal bands are not well known in Holland. The shocked reaction of the other singers when Floor opens with her opera voice is priceless. "Vilja Lied" Beste Zangers 2019. The Nightwish band is heavily influenced by Metallica and Megadeath. Empu breaks out a metallic rift on "The Greatest Show on Earth". Floor's husband is the drummer for Sabaton and the new NW drummer, Kai, came over from Wintersun when Juuka, the original drummer, had some health issues.

Ah, at last...the great Anthem , They are on par with loudness , but not as lucky as Akira's band outside of Japan. If you guys enjoy this performance, you should check this Jam version of their classic : Wild Anthem (kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqicx7CkodWcZqw.html) . you won't be disappointed.
