Rajadurai I want to answer your question. Increased TSH level indicates primary hypothyroidism while decreased TSH level indicates central hypothyroidism i.e hypothyroidism due to hypopituitarism

A safer option for GH testing is the Growth Hormone Secretagauge test via Macimorelin or other GHS

Hi Paul, At 24:52 you mention that there will be a decrease in skin pigmentation due to an increase in MSH. In hypopit, if the ant pit. is nonfunctional or partially functional, won't you get a decrease in MSH thus resulting in a decrease in skin pigmentation?

I think pituitary adenoma causing excess production of growth hormone can not be called ectopic production. it is an excess eutopic production.

+Rajadurai Geo The ant. pituitary gland is non functional in hypopituitarism. Therefore, since TSH is released from the ant. pit. it's level will be decreased, as will the level of T3 and T4, both of which are released from a functional adrenal gland that is not being stimulated to release thyroid hormone. Hope this clears things up for you!
