    I am really surprise when you said the local cloth brands are every low standard I do not agree with your opinion no body say the turkish local brands of cloth are low . There are of course some low standard but there are a lot of Turkish brands that has international standard and has good reputation these brands they got lots of branches in Europe and around the world do not forget that turkey is among best 5 countries in the world make deferent kind of cloths Also for furniture and home appliances such as oven cooker refrigerator and are internationally known such as beko Arcilik and vessel But when it comes to electrics and cars I do agree that its quite expensive due to high taxes that imposed by local authority specially for cars and electrics Although Turkey produce lots of cars of international brands like renualt cetrion Fait Mercedes Hundai ford and others and export them but still cars are expensive due to taxes

  • @OlgaProGoingPlaces

    @OlgaProGoingPlaces

    what Turkish brands would you say are higher standard? I do see some more expensive brands like Ipekyol or aDL, but I am not sure if they are worth a higher price. I would like to give them a chance. I didn’t say Turkish affordable brands are low standard. They are very inexpensive and quite often last no more than 1 season, similar to European brand like HM, with similar pricing. But you get what you pay for. You can’t expect high quality for low price :)

    I just read the news that restaurants are charging crazy prices in many tourist areas from Istanbul to Bodrum where a meal is overcharged as 41,000 TL. Service charge is 655.50 TL. This was reported by the Turkish reporter/article. "High season" = season of hungry feeding on tourist money/scam. I have stayed in Istanbul for some months now & I have more negative things to say than positive. A local told me that "normally" it's ok to go to Antalya, Bodrum, but not now.

    You oten mention the price of food in Asia. Asia is a very big place. Which countries did you live in? I lived in Thailand for 24 years and it was never expensive because I lived in places where Tourists didn't go, The same in Indonesia and China. Malaysia is also cheap. So, which countries do you mean were expesive? Korea, Japan and Hong Kong?

  • @OlgaProGoingPlaces

    I was living mostly in SE Asia and was comparing to that. In Thailand in a good restaurant it’s not cheap :) But street food is very inexpensive for sure. The comparison wouldn’t work as of now, because prices in Turkey changed and I don’t live there anymore, so can’t compare.

    Hello Olga , I really love your videos. You are giving so much informations with impartiality, honesty and objectivity. I am thinking about that video comparing different beaches in Alanya in particular. Your english is so fluently despite a hint of a accent which is not an issue at all, as I am able to understand all you are saying. Are you from Russia ? What is your academic background or credentials and can you give us the best opportunities or tips for the ones you would like to work in this beautiful country ? Take care,

  • @OlgaProGoingPlaces

    yes, I am from Russia. Unfortunately I cannot offer any advice about work, as I don’t work here myself and not looking for a job. All I know is minimum wage is low and Turkish people struggle to find work themselves.

    Hi, can you tell me will shops expect to be paid in Euros rather than Liras in tourist areas? I prefer to pay in Liras but I recently got told that shop vendors are asking money in Euros, which I don’t understand I’ve been to Antalya many times and always paid in TL. Please advise, thanks.

  • @OlgaProGoingPlaces

    @OlgaProGoingPlaces

    2 жыл бұрын

    depends on where in Antalya! I used to think that only TL can be accepted, as it is the only official currency of Turkiye. but recently we went to Lara kzread.info/dash/bejne/jH5tj4-QetreotY.html and the closer you are to the 5star hotels there, the more prices are in Euro. in a Mall there we could pay by card. But in Konyaalti/Kaleici you can always pay in TL or by card
