Glad it was helpful! You've probably got three choices for your first Turkish city. Antalya - there are some things to do, but the biggest draw is the cheap all inclusive hotels along it's golden beaches. Istanbul - there's lots of things to do. It's not as cheap as the others, but it's full of culture and attractions. Dalaman - another place like Antalya, cheap - lots of sunny coast destinations, but sorely lacking in things to do. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these places!

Not in the season though ..we’re now in Turkey 2 weeks all inclusive - over 2 thousand pounds..only because it’s July 🙄 oh and this ones only a 3 star hotel … Aska Lara would have been nearly 5,000 pounds for 2 weeks now 🤯

300 pounds is the winter price, when there are hardly any tourists around and they want to fill the rooms. Hotels cost many times more in summer.

Thanks Seanna. Yeah the temperature is pretty much perfect in April for doing attractions - average 21°C (70°F), it's not too hot and it's certainly not cold. So you can do all these things - though it still might be cold for sunbathing if that's what you're looking for? I found it to be plenty though.

Thanks my friend! In general, Turkish drone laws are fairly relaxed, but drone flights are strictly not allowed near government buildings and UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Perga. I didn't have many problems flying my own drone around beaches and the old town etc., but just don't do it in Perga!

Hi Sonia, glad this video helped! When I look for a holiday, I'll basically figure out when the cheapest day/week to fly (using the Google Flights map), then I look for the best deal on hotels via sites like Expedia, or any of the package holidays people. So my last three trips to Antalya have been with Thomas Cook, TUI and Jet2 respectively ... and at the cheapest time to fly there. Avoid booking the hotel directly with them, the hotel prices are steep compared to booking with a third party company. Have a look anyway, but they tend to be more expensive in my opinion. Hope that helps?

Depends on the country, but registering a drone isn't necessary in Turkey unless you're doing it for commercial reasons. All the typical no fly zone rules apply though, especially near airports, military bases, government property and UNESCO sites.

Great video and very informative! Although I've no idea where you heard that pet ownership isn't encouraged in Islam- it IS encouraged to take care of animals, particularly cat ownership. Turkish people are massive animal lovers and also own pets, but they have an issue with a high stray population that hasn't yet been solved, so they take it upon themselves to look after stray animals as a kind of 'communal pet'

That's what I was told, but yeah there's lots of stray animals in Turkey, but they all seem to be taken care of. I even got a photo of a line of cats waiting in an orderly queue for dinner at my restaurant. It was pretty hilarious.

Yes, it's very pleasant around April, temperatures reach about 22°C in the middle of the day, but significantly cooler at night (so bring something warmer for the evenings). Beaches are nice at that time of the year - not too hot, not too cold, just nice.

I usually go between November and January when the prices are at their lowest (because the weather isn't as guaranteed). You could get away with February, but from March onwards the prices get more expensive.

Bro, the official stores are not selling fake clothing. Don't give miss information, if you go in small shops you will find fake brands. But in stores they are not allowed to sell fake brands. And brands like Koton, Mavi etc are Turkish brands. They are even being sold in Europe to Europeans on Zalando. So pretty big brands.

It's not mis-information at all. In almost every other shop they're selling Nike, Gucci, MK, Versace stuff - and non of it is real. I'm not talking about 'Turkish brands' or 'Official Store', I'm talking about the very clearly fake designer goods that are everywhere in every corner shop. Now if you don't see any of that, you've never been anywhere in Turkey. Clearly you haven't if you have the nerve to call what I say and film 'mis-information'.

Better is with a tour guide, as they'll show you sights and places you might not have considered or seen before. But it's always cheaper to do it yourself by hiring a car. It's definitely cheaper than hiring a taxi to do the same thing.

There's plenty of holiday companies that will arrange that for you in Canada. Alternatively, you could book them yourself using Google Hotels to find the best deals. As mentioned in the video: if you book a hotel owned by the Stone Group - you can't really go wrong!

Hi - honestly most of Antalya is safe. I do recommend a resort Lara Beach to stay at, and then using public transport to get into the town and/or the ruins. I don't recommend staying in the actual city of Antalya itself as the facilities are far inferior to the resorts. Hope that helps?

Thanks Paul. As far as I'm aware, you don't need any special certificates to fly a drone in Turkey for recreational use. Local reaction, they're fine so long as it's in a nice open area and not on some crowded streets etc. The Police WILL pull you up if you try and fly near airports, government buildings and UNESCO sites.

@@paullyons221b absolutely! But just be careful. I almost got thrown into prison for droning around Perga (the ancient city). If you see Police hovering around, best to not fly just in case you break a law you didn't know about. My advice: if you have to fly, do it quick, keep the distance between you and the drone short, and pack away real fast and pretend nothing happened! Dealing with Turkish Police wasn't fun.

Hello my friend. So long as you don't fly drones around mosques, within the vicinity of Antalya airport or anywhere where they expressly forbid it (there are signs telling you this), it was pretty much free reign to do whatever you want. On things like beaches or the sea, nobody bats an eyelid. Seriously!

But there's one thing you should know when you get to Antalya Airport to fly back to the UK is that they security check you about 3 times. Once before you enter the building, once after you check in (the normal security) and once before you board the plane at the gate, especially for UK flights (threat of terror is higher in our country for some reason?!). But you should be fine with your equipment.

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever see those prices ever again. You can probably still get a week all inclusive for about £450 if you go out of season. But in season, the prices are sky-high.

Not bad, a little mild but certainly not terrible. The bad thing about Antalya in the winter is the unpredictability of the weather. I've been one year and it was 20°C and sunny. The next year, it was cold and raining all week. The next year it was freezing at night, but warm during the day. If you want guaranteed weather without it being stinking hot and stupidly expensive, go between April & June or September & October.

Depends which beach and whereabouts. Lara beach for example; some parts of it are pristine white sandy, and some parts of it are very pebbly. I'd say you get a mixture of both, but in general; the nicer hotels have the nicer beaches.

How is the wifi? I will be there March 2022 and need to know if the wifi will be working well.

I left mobile data off my phone in Turkey, but that didn't really bother me. Friends have said that the public Wifi and mobile networks are very good. Free Wifi at the hotel was okay.

I usually do a package deal from either TUI, or what was Thomas Cook (I still think they exist online), though the last one I booked was with EasyJet holidays. The cheapest deals are usually December / January when the weather isn't as guaranteed. Because the world has gotten stupidly expensive, I doubt I'll see that price ever again. Hope that helps?

It's warm, temperatures top out at about 16°C (61°F) but it's not really that hot. The weather isn't guaranteed, but if you are lucky and get warm weather, it's nice (and cheap!).

This hotel is located in Side, right next to historic Manavgat Market (great place to pick up fake designer goods) but it's nowhere near the actual city of Antalya.

@@gang-gang8325 good choice! I stayed there and some of this video was of the Aska Lara. You'll find that in terms of things to do, it's not as much as some of the other hotels (like the Royal hotels), but it's across the street from the entrance of the beach. There's also a few shops nearby and it's easy to get into Antalya city from there (a 1 hour bus or 20 minute taxi). If you get bored one day, get a taxi driver to take you to Perga (see my other video on this) for a nice historic day out.

Mainly Turkish, but you can get by with English, Arabic, Kurdish or Greek.

Antalya is cheap until the crooked business owners start to rip you off. As for getting lost. It's pretty hard to get lose, because the old town is quite small, and you can see minarets from almost every street, so you always have some sort of berring. And if you're not sure where north or south is, just look at the direction the Muslims are praying.

That's technically true, yes. It's an open secret that tourists get ripped off, but that's just how it is. That's how they make money. If you can haggle, that goes a long way to ensuring that pricing is slightly more fair!

11:48 The reason why there are so many pets on the streets of Antalya is not related to being a Muslim. People buy pets because they're cute when they're puppies. And after those pets grow up, most people unfortunately throw those pets on the street. There are shelters for pets living on the street in Antalya. And most pets on the street are vaccinated.

Yeah, the reason why it's so cheap is because the weather can be unpredictable in late November to early January. Because it can get cold, nobody wants to go at that time, so that's why the hotels are so cheap at that time of year. If you go in July when the weather is guaranteed to be nice, people want to go at that time - but that means that the prices increase.
