    Why the pipe wall is adiabatic in this analysis? Why not diabatic? Plz explain

    We are extracting the heat from the flue gas to the cold water. In order to prevent the heat loss to atmospheric air, we have given an adiabatic wall boundary condition on the pipe outer wall.

    In ansys 2020R2 ,why outline is not seen on screen,it makes difficult to proceed further process in meshing, appreciate your work ,u makes learning easy

    You might have altered the tabs position. Try to reset the mesh then open it.

    Sir I have two questions. Que 1. In boundary conditions, under "outlet" why have we not used "mass-flow outlet" type for flue gas or water? But we used "mass flow inlet" type in "Inlet".. Que 2. For Outlet, why didn't we use the given outlet temperature?

    If you want the flow of air to be constant at the outlet you can use mass flow outlet . Like the case of exhaust fan , as we are unware of the flow at outlet so we cant use that., We have the data of inlet & going to find the results like velocity tempr etc at outlet.

    Comment part 2... Question - Since we have not used any outlet data, Facet Average in Report also has affect of it. There is a change of only a single degree temp. But change should be large. Sir please clarify..

    As i had said earlier its a part of the model you had sent not the full economizer. The full body tempr variation would be definitely different from this.

    You need to do another model with no helical fins then find out the heat transfer. Then compare with the previous one.

    Why doesn't the continuity equation ? It's residual is around 1e-02.

    every residual has been changed to 1e-6 , which on are you referring to? . specify the time.

    @@AnsysTutor Thanks for replying. See 9:49 . Only energy equation residual is below 1e-6. Others are above. And they are oscillating too.
