Reviews of clothing, boots, and accessories for men, along with style advice and life philosophy. I've been working with my hands for my entire life as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and eventually a licensed electrician. Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford. With so many options these days, choosing the best product can become a difficult decision, but that's where I come in. Helping you stay stylish, rugged, and handsome.
I don't care where it's made as long as it's made well and allows you to own less and own better.

This was an interesting chat - albeit a year later. I am already searching for a brass ProTec Runt 5 to add to my EDC. Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful jacket. I’d buy it in a heartbeat if I didn’t think not having a left hand warmer pocket would drive me crazy.
Really enjoyed this. Thanks
Christmas Time
Yo! You should do a video on Korchmar leather goods. They make incredible stuff from travel bags and duffels, to briefcases. I have tons of their products and they’re amazing! USA made too!
Hi Carl. I’ve enjoyed your videos over the years. I may have missed it, but I’d like to hear your take on motorcycles and motorcycle gear. I ride and I’m very particular with what I wear on my bikes (jackets, gloves, boots etc). A video showing what you ride and wear on the bike would be very interesting. Thanks and keep up the great work…
that really is pretty much the perfect double rider's jacket. material, details, cut, everything.
Redbreast is the stuff.
Merry Christmas blessing to you and the whole Murawski family! My new motto is “Own less, but own better”.
Merry Christmas
So stoked love when you guys do these !!!
More Albert please. Not just at X-Mas
i thought that tree was way in the back then out of nowhere you guys are all grabbing it and it was 3 inches away from you the whole time🤦♂️😂😂
Great as always guys! Keep them coming!!!
I started chuckling at the beginning of the video at the idea of a couple guys sitting around like fashionistas talking about "lumberjack" wear. Then your discussion turned to gold when you got philosophical. Nicely done! Yeah, I may not get the whole lumberjack deal because I grew up there, but am glad you enjoy.
As a member of the American public, I've probably seen all your videos, all the way through, and I love the chats aswell haha. Thank you for making these for us. Had I known yall were doing a live I would've tuned in. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to both yall. Looking forward to the next videos.
Merry Christmas Carl! I truly enjoy all of your "chat sessions" with Albert. Hope to see even more in 2023!
Merry Christmas!!
That's awesome to have no shortage of work.
Just now getting to watch this episode, and I was so pumped to see it was another Albert get-together! I completely agree...there is something about the two of you guys together talking about stuff. Another cool episode with great content. Thanks to you both!

Great stuff as usual. Happy new year to you both!
HEY CARL, I asked you awhile back about any hand made boot company that might make a Chelsea boot and at the time there where none. I reached out to a couple ( Nicks, Westco) and again at the time both said they couldn’t help. I did order a pair of custom builder pros from Nicks and absolutely love them. About a month ago I noticed that Nicks is now offering Chelsea boots so I was quick to get a pair on order. I’m sure you are aware of the new offering from Nicks and thought it may be a great review since I know a ton of guys who love the ease of the Chelsea boot. Cheers and keep up the great work.
Happy holidays from China!
I love these. Your youtube channel is one of my favorites! Keep up the great work.
Took us 12 hours to cut , lift and then hot works demolish a railway bridge one Sunday 🙂💪🏼
Thank you for another great chat. It really did fly by. As a point of interest, when Albert said his one go to clothing item was his IH buffalo plaid shirt, I happened to be wearing exactly that. LOL. One other thing. If I were to say a company that I adore right now and cannot imagine living without I would have to say Weather Wool. Without question one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time (CPO shirt and the Anorak).
had to work on Christmas morning... this video in the background was great
Feliz Navidad Carl! Merry Christmas to both of you! God bless you 🙏

Merry Christmas! Carl 🎄 🎁
Yes! Albert is back! Love when this guy is on with you Carl. I just have to say, I am a 35 year old man who has never had any real style. I knew I liked clothing of quality but I never knew anything besides t-shirts and polo shirts. I don’t care for polo shirts so I was always just dressed in plain t-shirts. Carl you have the style I always knew I liked but I didn’t know existed. I just didn’t know. I want to say thank you for introducing me to all the good quality stuff that you have shown us. Also, Merry Christmas to you and your family and to Albert as well. Thank you

Thank you Carl and Albert for that great video. I don`t often comment on videos, but I just have to tell you, how much I enjoy listening to you guys. It`s not only about the products or the information, but even more about hearing your thoughts and advise on all the topics you discuss regarding life in general. Merry Christmas and only the best for the upcoming year. Greetings from Germany!

Hi Carl, thanks for your entertaining and informative videos. Merry Christmas brother!
I've got a WEIRD question about the 'feel' of clothes. Perhaps this actually has to do with human 'auras' too, presuming we have them. Many--though not all--leather jackets feel good when worn, but I don't mean the texture of the leather shell where it happens to brush your hand, or the smell or creak of the leather, or the heft of the garment, or how you think the jacket makes you look. What I do mean is: When wearing a jacket made of fine leather there's often a feeling of 'wellbeing.' Cotton feels comfortable; wool feels warm but staticky (and if it brushes the skin, scratchy); nylon feels uninviting, and denim feels 'neutral;' but fine leather feels like it's emanating 'contentment.' (Cheap, plasticky leather = not so much.) What's odd about fine leather in a jacket is that the 'wellbeing' factor is there even though it's outerwear and you mostly perceive just the weight of the garment when you're wearing it. Leather's tactile property is largely a side issue with outerwear, shoes, etc. Do others experience leather jackets they wear similarly? Sometimes I've wondered if leather garments are 'soothing to our auras' somehow, LOL.
Merry Christmas Carl. I liked how you started off speaking whiskies. My go to is a bottle of Blantons. I was literally on a waiting list for a year and a half to get it. Been saving it, I have only taken one drink of that bottle, our first night in our new house. Funny to hear Albert discussing the thermal and t-shirt, that was my go to in high-school too. I have a few shirts from a cheaper work wear company that I wear around the house and they look like a thermal and t shirt, they are all one piece though. Lol

Carl, exactly what part of construction do you actually hands on do? Fun hanging out with you...thanks.
@ Carl Murawski This was a great video. Love the informality! I’m sitting here at my local bar watching this video and thinking “ it’s been a good year! I found you and all your video’s and now I’m broke! 🤣🤣” No regrets. So, I’m sitting here wearing a Dickie’s dark green heavyweight t-shirt over which I’m rocking a Flint and Tinder 10 year zippered hoodie in oak and a F&T moss green waxed trucker. A pair of Kirkland 18 dollar denim pants because I just love how they fit me, and for foot wear, a nice pair of wool socks and a pair of Thursday Captains in Mocha. The look is amazing and rugged. Can’t wait to discover some more great clothing this year! Have a great one!
No matter your mood, Carl and Albert is sure to spread some positivity whatever the topic! For some reason they end up with topics both philosophical and grounded in reality.
Carl, I greatly enjoy these conversations and your joint sharing of reflections on life as well as clothes. Albert, it turns out you and I have a lot in common: music, leather jacket afficionado-dom, and Chanticleer. My late orchestration teacher at Cornell, Steven Stucky, composed some music for Chanticleer. And I was born and raised in upstate New York. As that dear guy and my favorite songwriter Brian Wilson likes to say: "Love and mercy to you and your friends tonight," guys. --Don in Indiana
Always fun to have Albert on board :D Glad you mentioned UES, since I bought their (14.5 oz ) shirt it is my favourite one. Compared to my IR and flat head shirts I have to say I think it is superior to flat head and just a tad less refined than IR ones. UES T shirts ( suvin / ramayana ) are also top notch. I think Albert would prefer them to his 3sixteen ones :D Merry Christmas to you and your fam, and all the best with the show in 2023.

I followed Albert on Instagram because of his energetic appearances here.
Take a break, Carl. You deserve it, brother. Albert is awesome. He’s the interesting & energetic guy when you go to a party that everyone seems drawn to interact with. He would’ve been a perfect addition to the crew that got together in Texas. Just thinking about that hospital project. A full ground/up build. All the head walls in the patient rooms, lighting, emergency & normal power split branch circuits, special imagery rooms, boilers, chillers, generators, etc. Yeah, those take some serious time & hopefully you’ve got a good GC to work with.

I own two N1 deck jackets a khaki Real McCoys and a blue Eat dust , the Eat dust jacket is by far the most worn jacket l own the fit is just top notch . Edit: wanted to find a video in your back catalog and it’s not there , was a wool jacket multi coloured fleck that was a grail item for you and expensive ? Wanted to know the brand and model. Cheers have a great Christmas.

I assume people have mentioned it to you before but UES is actually pronounced “Wes” and it’s a Japanese abbreviation for “waste”, and I think the whole idea of the brand was better products so you don’t need to buy as often, and have less waste. Happy holidays for both you and Alfred!

Albert seems like a very nice dude. But i gotta say, i can"t help but cringe sometimes when you guys talk about how much stuff ( clothes ) you own. Your video " what the hell am i doing " really changed my perspective a while back on how we should consume in a better way. When Albert talks about clothes i can see this childish gluttonous thing you where talking about, i can also see it with you. Not trying to hate or be mean, but i can't help but wonder: how do you feel about the way you consume clothing now months after you've made this really thoughfull and insightfull video ?
@CarlMurawski

It’s pretty simple- I give most of my clothing away. I have a couple friends who are the same size as I, and they can’t afford this stuff. It’s a great feeling.

You make very valid points. I think we all choose ways that we overdue an aspect of life. Clothing is just a fun passion and like Carl I give away - never sell - a fair amount of clothing each year. I don’t collect watches or cars or much else other than books. It’s my “indulgence,” which brings me pleasure and income for the makers.
You should go back to tow truck driving.
