I'm so happy that Bioderma sponsores you, you totally deserve it and it's such a great brand :D I don't really like micellar water, as you said using it with pads is like a light physical exfoliation which would irritate me, but you listed many advantages of it which I didn't think about before :) like using it where the tap water is not suitable for you and after microblading, I might think about it for situstions like this. thanks for the quality content :)

I heavily used it while I lived in an area with incredibly hard water, it made such a huge difference for my skin it was ridiculous. It really is fantastic when you can't count on the local water without extensive filtering.

Thank you for this. I’ve been loving micellar water and my skin gets constant compliments (and I live in a very hard water area) but I just watched a video by a dermatologist who acted like micellar waters were only a makeup remover and had to be washed off! So thank you very much for reassuring me!

Love my pink top Sensibio Bioderma Micellar water! The Garnier supposed dupe is really drying and irritating. Not changing from the Bioderma ever again. I use it as my step 2 in my cleanse after the Bioderma Pink Sensibio gel cleanser and a good rinse with water. Kind of like a toner. When I do this my eyelids don’t itch from any leftover eye makeup. It’s the best. The cotton pads that I love and are the softest are the Shiseido ones. I’m 63 with allergy prone sensitive dry eczema prone skin. Also when I am almost done cleaning my makeup brushes I squirt a little Micellar water on my brushes and rub a bit then squeeze & rinse. It’s amazing how much more makeup comes out even though I got it “clean” using soaps or my cleansing gel.

My skin doesn't agree with oil cleansers so I use the Sensibio micellar water as the first cleanse in a double cleanse method. For the second cleanse, I use a very gentle cleansing milk (my current favourite is Avene's Extermely Gentle Cleansing Lotion) to make sure I washed any residue and excess sunscreen/makeup off. Ideally you should rinse the micellar water off especially if you're sensitive, acne-prone. You can leave it on from time to time if you're on a plane, travel, late night party etc. but not in a long run.

I’ve been using micellar water and had no clue cotton pads were lightly exfoliating, so now I’m even more keen to try oil cleansing. Would you know of any Aussie products that are the equivalent of Albolene, or whether Aussie Hydraderm Sorbolene cream could be a good first cleanser? Ingredients (re Albolene) = mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffin, ceresin, beta carotene Ingredients (re Hydraderm = Water, glycerol, liquid paraffin, soft white paraffin, cetostearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, cetomacrogol 1000, chlorocresol.

Sensibio micellar water has saved me. I have rosacea and during the winter it can get so bad that even washing my face with just water provokes an intense flush and burning. With the Sensibio I am able to cleanse my face without irritation. I always soak one side of the cotton pad with the micellar water, go over my face, then put a few drops of lukewarm water on the flipside and go over the face again to not leave too much micellar water on my skin (I suppose it's not necessary but I'm kinda paranoid).

For instance, I've been using the sebium bio after my workouts to cleanse/tone my sweaty face, but I've been dripping it into my hands and then spreading it around my face. I wasn't sure it would be less effective since the non-polar heads wouldn't be arranged in a micelle as with a cotton pad?

I don't think it works as well without a cotton pad - tissue should work as well, but it can be a bit rough.

@@LabMuffinBeautyScience Oh no! My worst fear! Haha, thank you so much for answering, :-). I've been avoiding the cotton pads because I hate to waste product like that, but after seeing your other video on how micellar water actually works, I realized it might not be simply a matter of getting it onto my face. Well, now I know!

@@xcforlife77 You could use a cotton flannel instead, or look into reusable cotton pads - I've started using some reusable pads that I made from cotton flannel I bought at the fabric store! Super cheap and goes into the laundry with everything else :)

@@LabMuffinBeautyScience +1 for reusable cotton pads. I made some out of flannel scraps almost ten years ago and they are still going strong. Washing tips: 1.Put them in a mesh lingerie bag to keep them from disappearing in the washing machine. 2. Periodically "strip" them with an oxygen cleaner to get the build up out of them. I saturate them with the Oxyclean stain spray, but a long soak in a tub with hot water and a scoop of the powdered Oxyclean works well, too.

So if we use Micellar water at night after all the sunscreen reapplies during the day (I don’t use any makeup), there’s no need to double cleanse with a water cleanser? We can just put our nighttime skincare over our skin right after using Micellar water?

Thank you! I've been using the Australian gold sunscreen every day (love it). Struggling to get it off at nights. I use a great micellar water with a disposable facial wipe, both of which my skin tolerates. But I need to do a second cleanse too, I'm just not sure if I should use an oil cleanser first to try to remove the sunscreen and second the micellar water or vice versa. Sometimes I feel that I'm over exfoliating with it, leaving irritation. Any suggestions?

Pajama Mama I use the same spf plus makeup everyday and I have very sensitive allergic eczema skin so here’s what I do: Step 1: cleanse with the Sensibio pink gel cleanser- a pump of that, gentle fingers massage into wet face for a minute or so. Rinse well with lukewarm running tap water. I get my face right under the tap a rinse well with my fingers and PAT DONT RUB with a clean soft facecloth just to take excess water off. Step 2: I take a Shiseido cotton pad (softest one I’ve found) and put the Bioderma Sensibio Micellar water on it and hold on lids, gently wiping my lashline for the last bits of mascara etc. I carry on over the rest of my face gently wiping any last traces. Then I rinse again and pat dry but since this video I won’t bother with the second rinse. It gets EVERYTHING off. Till I did it this way I would wake up at times with itchy eyelids from remnants. I can’t recommend both those Bioderma Sensibio products enough along with the Shiseido cotton pads. I quickly follow with my moisturizer to lock in the water into my skin and wake up comfortable even around my eyes. For an alternative first step I use Clinique cleansing balm- the purple jar and same routine. I like that for travel because the little jars of that are easier to travel with as a mini and a solid balm that won’t leak. So if you prefer an oil cleanse try the Clinique cleansing balm instead of the Sensibio gel cleanser.

Pajama Mama personally, I take off my makeup with Bioderma, use an oil cleanser and then a milky cleanser. If I don’t wear makeup then I just do the 2 steps without Bioderma. Just my 2 cents 🌺

I have sensitive AND very oily skin. I am prone to acne. For the past 5yrs I've been using the magic concoction of benzoyl peroxide and adapalene gel. It's the only thing that keeps me from being a pizza face. I love it! It dries out my skin tho and I do still get a couple pimples here and there but nothing like before. I use Cerave cream for my moisturizer before I put on my magic lotions. I am wanting to make the switch from Neutrogena makeup remover wipes to micellar water and reusable cotton pads. Should I try the sensitive or acne prone micellar water?

micellar water and oil cleansers do the same job. You don't need to use both it's just preference. I realised oil cleansers don't work for my skin, it's messy and my skin gets easily irritated if I massage with oil for too long. So I just use a micellar water before I go on with a gentle cleansing milk/gel.
