14:44 I believe this was my question, thanks for answering! I live at about 2200 m (been here for about a year for reasons other than running) so I am definitely acclimated to it. Speaking of cross training, I’ve found bike riding helpful in my run training, which I enjoy also-a little less stress on the legs but good for base building. Ive also found it a good tool in the arsenal if I can’t run for some reason (but have the ok to bike) to maintain cardio fitness. It can be a little bit of trial & error incorporating something like bike riding into training, but I do love the variety, challenges & benefits it brings!!

  • @martinkelsen6049

Yes, agreed. Cycling is great cross training, and endurance base building. Too much running always seems to injure me. I am trying to alternate a long run with a long bike ride every two weeks, and generally cycle everywhere I go to keep my sixty year old heart going.

I loved that last comment. I feel the same way about the cold, you get snow for a few days a year, here in Canada I get snow maybe from Halloween till let us say March or April, yes year to year when we get snow and how long it stays vary of course, but 9 celsius is not COLD, I get that when you are trying to run you maybe do not dress how I would for -40 but it is easy enough to spend 45 min to an hour walking to work at -40 when I was working. So yeah I get the who cares how hot or cold it is for you :)

Because the drink that will be provided during the marathon is not available in my country making it impossible to test beforehand.

I think a lot of people expect club running to be full of elite athletes like watching the British Championship etc, I know I expected this as well. But in reality the club I'm in has running groups from 15 to 30 minutes park runners. And there are literally every event you can wish to partake in, from cross country, road running, track meets...and this also goes for masters competitions which are 35 or 40+ only participants. Cannot recommend joining a club enough if you want to compete and train with like minded runners, even as a newbie.

Far from being an annoying 80's "toy", it's quite a good mental / memory challenge in memorising the algorithms required.

wtf, why is he so bad at running, my first 400m I measured on the track few days after starting to train Track and Fields was at 64 seconds, now my personal best (I didn't go all-in because of a 3'000m race 20min after) is 55.78s.
