    I've been lazily pondering what to do with my scrap clay and came upon this video. That adapter you used inside the square blew my mind to the point my dogs came over to check that I was okay. I'm about to be extruding clay for days. Love your vids, and I'm truly grateful for you sharing your creativity with the world.

    Loving the technique tutorial, l'm a 20 clayer and this is my first time seeing the change of effect by adding the insert, NICE!!!. l watched or read a polymer clay tip somewhere that showed a plunger type extruder not twist handle kind and using a chalk gun to easily express the clay. A huge hand saver! You lay it in the chalk gun just like the regular use of a tube of chalk ... put the extruder in and squeeze away with Ease....#nohandfatique

    @@Mimismarketva from what I understand they redesigned the barrel of the extruder, and when they did it became slightly smaller. The Clay Core discs (3.5, 4, 4.5 mm) purchased through Amazon this month were older & slightly larger than the new ones so they didn't seat properly. I contacted Makin's and they are sending me the new ones, free of charge. 5 star customer service!! So you can use larger discs? Who makes the larger discs?

    Wow!! This is too cool!!! I've never heard of an adapter for the extruder! I don't have a green one but I have one of those black ones, oh what's it called (here goes my A.D.D./Alzheimer's again) Walnut Grove, lol no that's little house on the prairie . it's walnut something. Anyway, I bet one of those adapters would fit it. I love how it turned out. it puts me in the mind of a granny square Afghan.

    Gayle Thompson Lol! Yeah I was close but no cigar. I never can hit that bulls eye. Yes it is a Walnut Hollow, I remember now, thank you. That is good to know about the interchangeable dies. And no problem, I love watching. You are actually the first, no second, person I don't mind watching in real time, Sara Evans being the first. If I ever made videos I would probably have to do it in real time because I know nothing about editing. And I cant believe you and Donna Kato are friends! What the heck?? And you were the president of that guild and stuff, wow!!

  • @Mimismarketva

    @Mimismarketva

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Missi R Not president - vp-membership. Judy Belcher was president. We were a great team! Donna ' feather cane workshop was the first clay workshop I ever attended. Then the Orlando guild invited her to the first Fandango. That's where we became friends. We stayed in touch for a long time. We both owned greyhounds! I picked her up at the airport one time and she treated me to dinner where she gave me some good business advise. Little did I know that my mother would come visit me and get sick. My clay and my dreams had to be put on hold. I got back to my clay but my clay dream never came to be. Now I'm retired and don't have the funds to start a business. So I decided to do KZread videos! I'll jump off my soapbox now! Sorry to dump on you!

  • @RameyRocks

    @RameyRocks

    8 жыл бұрын

    Gayle Thompson like I said I never hit the bullseye! Still VP is a pretty big deal! Dump on me anytime, trust me I know all about dashed dreams...Im sorry your dream of starting a business went south, but you did the right thing in taking care of your mother. She probably felt bad that her illness interrupted your plans. I hope if something happens to me like that, that one of my children will take care of me instead of putting me in one of those nursing homes. You were talking about greyhounds. My mom lives in Vegas and theres some sort of greyhound adoption agency out there and she adopted one and named her Willow. She recently died while on vacation with my mom and step dad, and then their little dog that was part yorkie I think, died a month later. Mom started making homemade soap around the same time she got Willow and named her soap Sweet Willow Soap and she actually has a you tube channel (called Sweet Willow Soap, I think) showing how to make soap. She wishes she had been younger when she learned how because she said she wouldve opened a shop)Now you want to talk about talent, my mom is so talented, everything she does is over the top. I am not just saying that because she is my mom. I think she may be a touch OCD because everything she takes a notion to learning, she excels at it and is very fast also! Her handmade soap is the best! And I have tried a lot of different homemade soaps. Right now, she has taken a break from soaping and is on a quilting kick! She has never done clay, though. She took up water colors a few years back and all my relatives have her paintings on their walls! Its crazy! We all have her paintings, painted cards,her quilts, her soap, lotions, body butters, sugar scrubs, chapsticks, knitted socks, her doilies, afghans, dish cloths, (I crochet too), I know theres more but I am trying to remember it all lol. That's really neat about Donna Kato! I'd be like,"Hey Donna, you have any new items you would like me to try" lol. Well, even though your dreams didn't come true, I am glad you decided to make videos to share your knowledge. Maybe you will make a tute of how to do the feather cane some day!

    That's a tube bread adaptor..... The hole in the middle is so you don't have to drill the beads....

    I think they call those mod canes not retro canes

    I was around when these were first done and they were called Retro Canes. If the name has been changed, that's OK. It's only a name. Thanks for your comment.

    I have the same extruder and my "noodly" strips didn't come together as yours (11:28-11:43) did and instead came out separated. any idea why this is? UPDATE: It would help if I followed directions better! lol I was using the bigger square instead of the smallest. :)
