    Two words, reasonable doubt, the cops did a piss poor job of connecting him to the drugs in the back seat. Between not noticing his bodycam had turned off, the half-assed and undone testing of the evidence, and the less than convincing performance by the prosecutor, the people's side lost on an own goal.

    That was a really nice opening statement by the prosecutor. Very clear, very straightforward, and meets the "tell 'em what you're gonna tell 'em" standard brilliantly. It's not flowery oratory, nor is it scathing argument, but he doesn't need those things in this case. Instead, it's a simple statement of what they can expect to happen in the upcoming case, by a clear-minded lawyer.

    The cops did a less than impressive job of connecting him to the drugs in the back seat and the prosecutor wasn't able to sell a case that had reasonable doubt written all over it. They were hoping that the SovCit nut that they arrested was going to show up in court and argue his ass into prison, but when he didn't, their case was toast.

    Hop out and travel to jail😂😂😂😂 Stupid bodycam. Many departments are now using the one on the glasses by their ears.

  • @ralph17p
    @ralph17pКүн бұрын

    The jury, as far I know, didn't see the bodycam footage. Based only on what was said in court, there could be an explanation where he was not guilty. It might be unlikely, but if there is some doubt on some element of the charge, you have to return a not guilty verdict. It might suck that criminals get off some of the time, but that beats a system where it's easy for cops to stitch up a defendant. There are plenty of examples of countries where that is the norm, and while they have low levels of street crime, trust me when I say that you don't want to live in those places.

    I've been on two juries that went to verdict, one guilty, the other not. The acquittal was easier because of the clarity of the issue involved. When you're heading towards conviction you're nit picking everything to make sure you're right.

    With the body camera not showing how he got the cop collecting the stuff they said it could have be planted and so it was reasonable doubt. I am sure he will be back tho. That does to all the tech we have no of days. it's a wonder how before body cameras how we put anyone in jail.

    I wasn't surprised at all by the verdict. The cops did a half-assed job at connecting him conclusively to the drugs in the backseat and the prosecutor wasn't able to overcome the seeds of reasonable doubt that he was able to sew. I think they were hoping that he'd be the SovCit nutjob they arrested in court and convict himself, so they didn't put in the effort necessary to male the case stick.

  • @strangerbrothers9902

    @strangerbrothers9902

    @KFARR They lost the proof of the baggie being in his pocket because of the bodycam. They didn't test the powder in what is said to be his baggie or in the ones they claim were similar. It's never mentioned that he had either coke or meth on him, only a baggie of white powder. They also didn't check for his fingerprints on the paperbag or any of its contents to tie him to it. They left enough holes in their case to drive a bus load of reasonable doubt straight through it.
