Another classic Midwest SEVERE WARNED THUNDERSTORM, August 28th, 2022

I started recording well before the storm arrived, so the video starts slow. My garage faces east, so the storm came from behind me. A hot and humid afternoon lead to the development of a line of severe thunderstorms. This line formed out ahead of an area of helicity left over from a previous MCS over Iowa the night before. I was under a severe thunderstorm watch, and then a warning was issued for this line for damaging winds. winds did get strong at times in the video. Of greater note was the extremely dangerous lightning. One bolt halfway through the video hit two doors down to be left.

I can almost smell the rain, listening to the thunder grumble as the storm approaches. I grew up in Minnesota, so this brings back memories.

This is exactly the same for summer thunderstorms here in Northern Italy. I love them💙⚡🌩Thank you for the video from the Midwest of the U.S.😊

I love when a storm is coming in the air feels clean and lightning off in the distance and thunder. Always seem like someone is bowling 🎳 when thunder is happening

Its very scary actually when u think about it as birds and other animals outside go quiet and hide in thier trees and take cover from an approaching storm as they know when one is coming before we humans do. Something about the quietness is just unnerving to me :O

Summer thunderstorms are quite rare here in the San Fernando Valley. We get one summer thunderstorm every 5 years. Most of our thunderstorms occur during the winter, especially during El Nino.

Loved the werewolf story at the end. If I was there staring at those eyes behind the trees I would've thought to have taken a flare with me and throw it through the trees and let it light up the whole area. Those types of activities in the woods definitely needs flares 🤣🤣🤣

It hit two doors down to my left. Less than 100 feet from me. I didn't realize it at the time. The neighbor lost some siding for the blast.

Sometimes people stand under a tree during a thunderstorm. Standing under a tree during a thunderstorm is playing Russian Roulette.

Lolol!! My folk's were from the Dakota's n Wyoming and raised our family in Oregon where we use to get some pretty good storm's and, we had 2 sycamore trees by the house and every storm we had, they would go out under the tree on the picnic table, and watch the storm's.. Us kid's were always like, your not suppose to be under a tree.. They just laughed n said, this is nothing compared to the one's we had where we use to live.. Anyway, many many year's they did that n not once did they get struck.. ⚡🤗⛈️

Date is the anniversary of the F5 Plainfield tornado. Any severe weather on this day in the Chicagoland region is definitely a bit scary.
