Thank you so much! I just found a name of the game that I was searching for a couple of years - Challenge of the Ancient Empires. Hurray!

My favorite games of the DOS era were Doom, Doom II, Quake, Heretic, Ultima Underworld I & II, Leisure Suit Larry 6: Shape up or slip out, Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness, and Myst. I miss these days. There is Steam to replay most of them. I’m grateful for the availability of the games.

Those were the times! Full immersion because of gameplay and atmosphere. Not just graphics.
I’m too young to have been around for dos games but it’s been a blast trying some of these games out on dosbox. Thanks for the list!
Oh my god! I find Shamus! Recently I has suddenly remembered the old game with labyrinth and it's name begins with S. Only here I have found it!
Thank you for the hard work, i'm still looking for some I played that are not as popular, but maybe in the future I'll find them.

OMG 1989 Street Rod! Best game ever xD so many good memories from my elementary school years
I think we need 101 more, because I still didn't see Volfied,... Creepers,... Contraption Zack.... D-Generation, and...... Life & Death! 1 and 2 =D But yeah, lots of nostalgia here and there!
Thank You so much for such nostalgic videos 😉👍!
13:34 "What can you tell me about... voodoo?" This is actually the first adventure game that I enjoyed. Between the brilliant writing and the voice acting, it was one of the most memorable for me.
I've been spending days looking for a game I played when I was young and I finally found it here. It's Shamus. Thank you!!!!!!!
Nice video! Good way to discover some rare gems
Aces Over The Pacific and Aces Over Europe was a fun game.
My first computer was Atari 800xl but in the 80s, in school, I used to play on zx sepectrum 80 and 81 aaaaaa lot. Now i own xbox series x but never felt such butterflies in my stomach before the gameplay like in those ancient times😃
Great storied were told in the past. Great developers brought them to life. It is refreshing to see this flasback, thanks for sharing.
BRIX... I've finally found it after years of searching. Thanks😁
Another trip down memory lane.
not sure if this was already pointed out, but this game 2:35 is not "Ninja", it's actually "Shadow Knights - The Shogun of Death", developed by id Software and published by Softdisk in 1991. The "Ninja" game is a 1987 port of 1986 game that was developed by Sculptured Software and released by Mastertronic on various 8-bit computers, which later got ported to 16-bit micros.

@@seamusquain2706 That would be Screamer 2.
Thanks so much for these. Trying to think of some old DOS game we used to play maybe before '93 that had a medieval theme with darts that a changing wind trajectory could make you miss, also had some kind of buggy unlocking castles with keys system. I watch these and think, "wow these games are so cool! I remember redneck rampage etc" but none are the game i'm thinking of, time to watch the 4th video haha thanks again
From the ones I used to play I think the only ones that are not covered in your three videos so far are Stonekeep, Cyberia II, Alien Rampage and J-Bird. If you want to count also kids' games, Scooter's Magic Castle and Eagle Eye Mysteries in London were also good in their category. Still, a lot of the ones from the three videos have been part of my beloved DOS game collection. Descent my favorite game EVER, by the way! :D
19:46 This KKnD game, despite having weird name and being created in 1997, has quite wonderful graphics/animation/design actually

It stands for Kill, Krush, n Destroy! There's a sequel.
2:19 - start EGA era 3:45 - start VGA era
3 lists and Bubble Bobble is not in any of them....... I abused that game so much growing up.
I'm loving these tidbits, but I'm surprised you haven't seem to have played Ravenloft: The Stone Prophet! It was released in 1995 and I still have the original disc it came on, and even installed dosbox just to give it another go. And with this worldwide social isolation thing going on, it gives you even more of a reason to play computer games.
great time, the sounds, so much love :D
Here are some of the games I played like Jordan vs Bird One on One, Pipe Mania, Centurion, Stellar 7, Blues Brothers, Chuck Yeager Air Combat, F-117A, Indiana Jones and Last Crusade, Metal Mutant, WWF. Old times! :)
you missed Die Hard games also, Prehistorik, etc
Love the videos! Does anyone remember a game made up of 3D wireframe graphics, where you control a ball racing along a floating track against other spheres? The track winds around like a rollercoaster. I think it had green speed boosts and jumps in it, plus from what I remember, it was super easy to fall off the track. I've tried looking on the internet everywhere for it! If anyone knows what I'm talking about that would be amazing. I'm certain it was a DOS game.
Mechwarrior! I was looking for that. Man does that take me back.
Those game versions are best played on Win98! To make it work, I made a Dual Boot for 98 & XP on a separate partition ages and ages ago! I dont know if it still possible these days.. Ancient games are for geniuses, you need programming skills to make it work :P

@@LightwaveAl You can do it through a VM, but in most cases its easier to use Dosbox. If you have actual vintage hardware it's very easy to make a slick Win 98 rig with some modern parts. Phil's computer lab is a great website to help you get up and running. It has also a premade Dos config and driver's uploaded. So if you're willing to spent a little bit of time you can easily get a super charged Dos/Win98 system with no headaches.
"Jashiin, the emperor of Chaos" that's funny that "emperor " looks awfully like an Empress
Oh, yes! Good content! Keep on pleasing :-)
you rock! nice videos!
Buzz Aldrin’s Race Into Space was ACE!!! I managed to land on the moon in 1968 😁 Playing as the USSR it was almost impossible to win. I remember when Comanche was first previewed about a year before it came out and it looked amazing, but when it was finally released it only scored average as the gameplay was dull and the graphics were nowhere near as good as they’d seemed. Oh and I like that music 😁
19:15 Conquest Earth: I bought the game, hoping it would kind of be like C&C but the gameplay disappointed back then. BUT... the SOUNDTRACK is awesome, got me really into Eat Static :D
Great Video!
Finally! Zork appears.

Well, the first video was actually cataloguing my childhood, but these others are made of requests from the comments 👍🏼
very nice selection of almost 300 games i only knew some 25% of them, maybe less there are real gems which i never heard about
0:39 Use kick nuts! A Crittical Hit! it's super effective!
Some unmentioned games I have fond memories of: Tetris (1988), Indianapolis 500: The Simulation (1989), Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra (1991), Mad TV (1991), Warlords II (1993), Battle Isle 2200 (1994), WarCraft II: Tides of Darkness (1995), Ascendancy (1995, it's flawed though), Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars (1996), M.A.X.: Mechanized Assault & Exploration (1996, this must be the best looking DOS game). And some obscure oddballs that are among my favorite games: Atomix (1990), Spaceward Ho! (1992), Unnatural Selection (1993), Flame Dragon 2: Legend of Golden Castle (1995).
Flightmare! Never knew the name of it. How about Rogue and Castle, both subtitled The Adventure?? And more text adventures! I recall a Mars mission and a western where you’re looking for gold. You can dig in areas and get the remark “Dagnabit! There’s nothing here!”
Nice list! I forgot I had played some of these. Did I miss Red Storm Rising on the list?
I have 9 out of 12 AD&D DOS games and really want to play them on a compatible PC, but don't know if it's possible; the Eye of the Beholder trilogy will complete the series which I DON'T have.
10:00 Isn´t Elvira: The Arcade Game. It´s Elvira: Mistress of the Dark
(2:44) Come on, that doesn't demonstrate _Starflight_ at all; show a planetary approach and landing. (13:59) For a moment, I misread '16R' as *LGR.* "Greetings, and welcome to an LGR thing..."
Played 7 of them. Occasionally a few of them.
What game has a cutscene or animation with a black background and a faucet. It turns on and fills with water and then a water skier goes past in a boat?
Looks like it was about '89 when the PC finally caught up and surpassed C64 game graphics. Sound-wise it was even later.
Looking for a classic dos game that was 3d polygon style, First cutscene you were skydiving and had to land on a truck. I cant for the life of me find that game now, I do know at the time the same system had sky or die, 3d chess and a printer that used that continuous paper with the dots on the side as tracks. .
14:36 Ouch! Those are hits to your hull!
2:38 is there an alternate name for this game, or do you have the developer name? I can only find the beat 'em up by the same name 7:32 That's an arcade game
Challenge of the Ancient Empires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have looked for that game for so long. I beat it while a patient at CHOP in Philly and I forgot the name of it.
I loved Max, Dr Fluke Hawkins and Kurt!
God, there’s this game I used to play as a kid, I think late 90’s early 2000s. It was a fighting game with only two characters, a male and a female, each with a red and a blue skin. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. I keep hoping one of these videos will have it, but so far to no avail

Flightmare... omg lol. Wow I feel old now.
10:44 My memory: WTF, all this time you r in my brain and I could even notice???!!!
Anyone know the name of the platform game where you play as a mutated rat that uses coffee for health and has all sorts of weapons he unlocks along the way.
When I was a kid we had a drum simulator on DOS. One track sounded more like a guitar, though. We also had Family Feud, Jeopardy, Win Lose or Draw, and Wheel of Fortune.
10:00 Did Elvira just call you a bastard? Bloody cheek!

IKR?
Lots of nostalgia ! And better with the gameplay sounds. That was awful in the previous film.
Literally there's that one game which I cannot find and I've literally been searching for a year now 💀 It's a game a lot like that spaceship game called *dove* or *astrobatics* or *stargunner* but with some differences: whenever you defeat the *boss* of the level you are in, you *take their weapon* and advance to the next level with the selection of their weapon or your old weapon and so on. One of the bosses' *weapons* was literally *black orbs* , and another had a *flamethrower* . It's a pixelated 2D game, of course, and the spaceship is situated on the left and its facing the right. The level moves from right to left and you're advancing from left to right *facing other smaller spaceships throughout the level* that you kill for extra tweaks and perks here and there. It also had a *2-player option* if I might add.. If anyone remembers the name of this game it'd be a lifesaver 😭
Cyberia has been showing up in my feed lately, might give it a shot
Anyone have a list of the games, like the graphics of Shamis 0.17 but the graphics were made of letters. I used to play one game like that very often, it was good, anyone know what it was called??????
"Fade to Black" and "Powerslave", surely Metal Games! 😅😅
Saboteur 2: Avenging Angel (1987, Keypunch Software) Snarf (1988, Everett Caser) David Wolf: Secret Agent (1989, Dynamix) Colorado (1990, Silmarils) Sabor (1991, Gamos) Targhan (1991, Silmarils) Titus the Fox: to Marrakech and back (1992, Titus Interactive) ...and many others

The legend of kyrandai fables and fried
Hi, can anyone remember the name of this isometric puzzle game: You control a small purple square on green square platforms. You can move from platform to platform. Once you leave a platform it disappears. You can either move to the adjacent platform or jump to the one after that. The goal is to find the right way to land on every green platform (respectively to make all green platforms disappear). The platforms are floating in space. These are all the clues i have :(
Maybe you can help me find the old game I've been lookin for because i cant for the life of me remember the name of it, I was a futuristic style top-down view game I played from an old 3½ inch floppy disk. You play as this vehicle (cop maybe) that you navigate through the city defeating attackin forces with a bit of a story to it, Getting to the end of the gameplay realising it was only part 1 but didnt have any more floppy disks to continue\finish the game... Anyone have any ideas?
Wrong title. 2:32 it's Shadow Knights (1991) - by Softdisk Publishing. The game - Ninja (1986) by Mastertronic, wasn't in this video.
I have been watching the videos back to back looking for a game from my childhood, someone please help me! I used to play it on PC back in the late 90's (MAYBE early 2000's but I am pretty sure it is a 90's game). The game was a 2D side scrolling type of game. You play as a man and at the very start there is a little cut scene before you play of a castle under attack by monsters (orcs, goblins?) and in a tower in the castle a wizard puts a necklace on you and you basically teleport away. I think you had a shotgun to kill the monsters and some minor puzzle solving. I remember when the monsters died they would like bleed everywhere and collapse. I also remember you could get these remote control bombs that you could use to navigate throughout the screen and blow up on a monster. That is all i got, please help me!

Phantasmagoria 1995? 1st game on 7 CD ) $12,000,000 to Sierra in 1st weekend of sales!
metal mutant used to give me the creeps.
Does anyone know a game that was a character with green hair, who had 3 powers fireball, ball (which looked like water), and a green tornado, the powers were selectable. I remember that the levels were also selectable, there was a forest, an ocean, a tree like the one with magic beans, etc. The game I think was for PC Windows 98. In one level we were fighting a witch who was throwing hearts at us and we had to kick them back or hit her with our hands. In the tree level we had to reach the top and get a key to enter a castle. Please, if anyone knows him, let me know, I would really appreciate it.
Not mentioned game that I played: Hostage
The music is cool, but in the first video playing for 20 minutes was a problem, hahahaha!

Hello friend, I'm from Peru, in Peru I had a pirate disk that had more than 100 games for msdos, I think I played it in 1997, I don't know the name, it was like a character like a kind of astronaut soldier, or something like that with clothes or yellow armor with light blue, I remember something like that, it was a platform game, it was very nice, do you know which one I mean? Please if you know something tell me, thanks.
i'm seeking a pc game that i played in 90's, i don't remember the name, i just know that it was 2d and started in jurassic age and progressed to other period. it had puzzles to solve.
Can someone help me find a game? It's very old, prob ms dos. You can choose 2 knights, one is brown and has thicker armor, the other one is white but kills easier. The game has alot of stairs and bats flying around who can hurt you. There's a final boss that is some sort of skeleton throwing bones. The rest I can't really remember. Pls help
