Hoping to get my hands on that new spotlight for my 600C

What type of power source is needed to drive these fixtures? 2600 watts is beyond what an normal Edson outlet in the US will allow... or do these fixtures coming right under 20 amps?

No doubtful, 2600watts is significantly beyond, that will be a 240V fixture like many mid-size HMIs

Wow, as someone who doesn't shoot in huge hollywood sets, I'm struggling to even think what these could be used for. But I suppose it's huge scenes mostly?

you can shoot ""sunny" scene at night. Why? firstly because of weather maybe it is not sunny in your country, secondly and more importantly, you do not have to rely on moving sun, if you shoot for long time, like 8 hours, sun will change the position and affect the lighting and even colors. While if you shoot at night, you have constant sunny look with these lights and are not limited in hours as much.

@@dathofilms ah interesting never thought about it like that! Literally had a shoot which was a nightmare for the sun, so could have done with a few of these 😅 thanks for the comment;

@@jambononi yes it is always better to have as much control as possible on lighting. Especially for longer shoots.

Nope - everything above an M90 is still outside of what LED's are capable of, and Aputure acknowledge that themselves. Also notice that the watt-to-lumens performance advantage that LED's have is getting smaller as the fixtures get bigger. Don't know why that is, put it seems like it's not a trivial matter to scale these up. Still fantastic stuff!

Yeah, they definetly have NOT destroyed traditional HMIs lol. Any DP/Gaffer in their right mind would choose an M90 or M40 for the form factor and convenience alone. Let alone the perfect color science and ease of use. Aperture is doing great stuff for people with lighter budgets and those at the forefront of using LEDs, but we are far from the day where people just forget about HMIs
