I've used this idea to include everything from slides to gifs made in Canva (they still animate in Jamboard!). Instead of uploading the images to Drive, I use the change background button, and drag and drop the images from the download bar to add them directly to the background. No resize needed!

As a math teacher,I would like to be able to simply annotate my google slides during a presentation depending on the questions children ask or to be able change the presentation "on the fly" to meet the needs of each group of students. When I was teaching non-virtually, I could project my presentation on my actual whiteboard and annotate from there. How much more powerful would it be to be able to annotate immediately during a lesson without having transfer each slide to a jamboard. I would think that since both Slides and Jamboard are Google products, there should be an easier solution . . . maybe add annotating capabilities to google slides?

Yes, this is exactly what I wish I could do: simply annotate the Google slide deck that I create for my classes each day. We are all on the same slide deck (NOT in present mode) and I would simply like to point out, draw, circle things on my Google slides - and not make my students go to yet another tool, as fun as they are! I can do this somewhat by simply highlighting text and/or making changes to what I have written on the slide of course but I cannot draw circles, etc or annotate properly. Maybe someday! Someone mentioned a chrome extension, I may have to try that. Thanks.

I use Jamboard for tutoring math online. I make a Slide presentation to go with the lesson and then we move to a Jamboard to do practice problems. I'm glad to now know how to "smash" them together. My only complain for Google is that Jamboard has a limited number of slides. I like to leave up our work so students can refer back to our practice problems when they are working on their own. This will eat up quite a few of those and I already was stretching to get it all in one Jamboard. I'll have to give some thought to how to better use the space. The challenge is that some students are using a tiny screen on their phones instead of a laptop or Smart board.

I agree slide limits are a bit annoying. I have used Jamboard a lot in classes for my lessons and the integration with touch devices is so easy to use, but when working on larger ongoing projects, where the previous work has to be collected, I continue to use Google Slides. I love how I can have all my planning in a single Slideshow. I am positive though that as the platform evolves, more features will be added. (Remember how Google classroom started with a very basic feature set)

This is the most frustrating thing with Google Slides. this and it doesn't have the equivalent of moving an object like Powerpoint can. Personally I stick with Powerpoint as I can annotate the slides using a tablet when I am presenting. Jamboard I fins absolutely fab for explaining examples though - a quick snip of the screen & paste into Jamboard (I usually get the students to insert the question they want help with!

The easiest option for me is: export the google slides as a PDF, then open the PDF with a free PDF tool like Foxit Reader, which allows you to write and draw on it etc. (just almost like Jamboard). Later you can share the whole or parts of the PDF incuding the annotations with your audience via e-mail or GDrive.

Using this feature for a team retro/offsite meeting for people to use the stickies and tools to post ideas. I'm disappointed the only way to do this is to manually save each Google slide one by one, then upload and resize one by one on the Jamboard. Looking forward to when Google has way to load an entire deck vs. slide by slide manually.
