    The DLS with Docks is one of the most important DLC if you want to building megacity. You can manage your import and export without producing some products. Sunken Treasure & Docks DLCs are the best

    Land of Lions easily goes to Must Have, mainly because how hard and expensive is to require some very important items. And Enbessa Questline is the best from all. And Bright Harvest is much better than Seeds, because is easier to use - you will have Oil allready, because is needet for electricity.

    Totally agree! The Land of Lions DLC also opens up the insanely profitable trade route between Archibald and Ketema for Pocket Watches and Gramophones which grants easy money in the midgame.

    Land of Lions is by far a must have DLC! Seat of Power and Docklands could also be tiered better I'd say. As for High Life I would say again its must buy. It adds the most to the end game.

    Honestly I think every DLC (besides cosmetic) is a must have. Either you have all or don't use any. Each of them pretty much interacts with each other, and if you have limited budget just get the season pass in order. Skyscrapers + hotel + university is unbalanced without Crown Falls. Bright Harvest and university from Land of Lions is mandatory to fulfill large population as well.

    Pretty much spot on. I've noticed quite a lot of new players to the game lately with the Annoversary, and this is basically what I tell them. Grab Sunken Treasures, and Season 4. You really don't need anything else. Then if you want to explore more aspects of the game, go ahead and pick them up. Most other things are just conveniences that though nice, are not needed.

    Vibrant city is one of the most important, otherwise your cities will look super samey. Yes, most of the "alternative" buildings are just reskins, but they are so different, that it does look like different buildings. It's almost essential for me.

    pretty good list. It's your list so this is just my personal take, for me the land of lions DLC would be a must buy because the irrigation system is a real cool mechanic and I wouldn't want to miss it. However. Playing through the questline can be tricky because at times it can be very hard to find out how to move it further and my game even glitched out at a certain point so I was for a long time unable to drive the questline forward. And I agree with marty mcfly that the docklands are pretty important super late game to get rather easy access to wares you would have to spend a lot of manpower and trade route capacity on otherwise. Also it's great to make use of the things you overproduce since money is not an issue at that point but rather space and manpower. So every system that lets you juggle around your production and imports is great at that point.

  • @Kamishi845
    @Kamishi845 Жыл бұрын

    I think you should really clarify your criteria when you are going to make these sort of lists, because I am surprised you rated the two most important DLC being LoL and Docklands, so low, since they are easily the most game changing and even borderline broken out of the bunch. They trivialize a lot of gameplay mechanics in a way no other DLC does. Of course, this ultimately comes down to why you play this game, but there's a reason most of the DLC are aimed at late game and even expand on the late game rather than the earlier game stages, because earlier game stages already have enough content as is and if people struggle to get to investors, I don't think any DLC is going to make them enjoy the game more, and I'd even argue that if that's the case, outside of cosmetic packs, that player would be better off playing vanilla until they understand the game enough to get to investors and then decide what they feel they lack in terms of content.

    Bright Harvent may not effect as mutch as the DLC above it but i would still bump it up 1 tier for how useful it is and the more population u get the higher value the DLC gets. I wished they made a DLC that made the military section better. The way it is now after all the DLC the military section is subpar at best and the military rating is just out of control when it comes to defensive buildings. I dont have an issue with the AI building alot of cannons as thats there only way to stop the player from steamrolling them. The problem is the cannons add way to mutch military power rating to the point that even if they are clearly outmatched in a war and lose islands everywhere they just refuse to sign for peace becouse somewhere in another region they have 1 island with 20 cannons that boost there military rating.

This list is absolutely great but I am not sure if it applies to multiplayer play. Sunken Treasures, The Land of Lions and recently Season 4 seem pretty fun to try out multiplayer but I am not sure if they scale well. Can someone please advice.

    If I had to choose only one dlc it would be the bright harvest as it’s nice in every single one as it’s the only dlc I can think of which improves ur world already on the workers level you save so much space with it and in the later game you get newer benefits with the tractors just the perfect practical dlc for me not that shiny but still awesome

    To me, the Botanica DLC simply has the same issue as the Zoo and Museum in base game: Way too many exhibits use the standard building when plopped down. This makes the pack pretty frustrating because it's kind of hard to create a good looking Garden. Mind you, the exhibits that do have a unique model look *fantastic*. But it's just too few. With the Zoo and Museum that is fine, since those are base game additions, but with a paid DLC; I would have wished for more effort, especially if the DLC is simply reskinning an already existing feature.

    Bright harvest only at B tier? Man it's definitely must have for mid-end game it's nearly impossible to make big city without efficient farms, I can't even imagine new world farms without tractors and silos I will definitely place high life to B as long as it's just game lengthening DLC with spamming of weird production chains (home fridges were invented in 1900' not 1800' and seriously demand on such rare items like billard tables and violins is completely without any sense like lack of ideas forced content, for example electric iron demand would have more sense as it can be used by every inhabitant) and Bright harvest to S, and seriously, decoration pack in S tier?

    So glad most of the comments aren't crying about how much DLC there is for Anno 1800 but rather debating which one is a must buy! This is what happens when developers put love into their game rather than pandering to publishers. All the things we love from pre-2070 titles compiled into an incredibly beautiful nostalgic masterpiece. It's so addictive you've got an annoying little man crying "You've been playing for 16 hours, might as well take a break". :D

    This video is a good summary of the DLCs, but the ratings feel unsatisfying since pretty much the only one criterion seems to be the DLCs impact on the game and not the fun it provides.Weird metric.

    "You need to listen to everyone's opinion" Their opinion:

  • @stargazerorion9209
    @stargazerorion92092 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, tier lists are in trend now, and I pretty much agree with this exact ranking(totally disagree on Land of Lions and Docklands tbh, in my opinion they both brings a lot of change in a process and economics structure - way more than big chunk of land as Sunken treasure is. And math of Hacienda is not that good, what? It allows to halving of the farmfields territories in new world. I would even say that is too good, and only reason for that being so good is to make necessary space for third dlc of sp4). There is a lot of clear arguments here. Yet there is no season pass dlc in a row that look redundant for the main purpose of optimization fun, which are the core of the game in my opinion. There is some fluctuatuions based on personal experience. For me for example tourist season unexpectedly brought more fun somehow than high life. And nevertheless I can't imagine that I could skip any in my new playthrough. Its a cool way to work on a project like this. I can't even imagine a scale of mechanics that drops on a new player with 4 season passes now. It's like more than 100hours of unstoppable learning and getting better. Building interface for the new player became a total nightmare though. Really unfriendly for newcomers. But there is no way to avoid such trouble, and for old fans game is really becoming more beatiful jevel with a time. At the season three anouncement I started to think that bluebyte stucked on one project for too long, but now I find myself kinda keen on expecting sp5 even. Only dissapoint of mine is the fact that I cherished more the futuristic aestethics of the series. And I really wanted to see such scrupulous approach in 2000+ version.

    On this list i would totally disagree Land of lions is unique but if you have spice it up the Quest will crash until you remove i think trader enbesa or so.. also the Quest is itself very nice looking but also kinda boring Building there is meh but it works Bright harvest is a must have it improves your life greatly and lets you build on same footprint far bigger city‘s Arctic is nice but its usually not fun to build, quiet small and missing of an proper way to transport people to the islands its for me itself a NO GO Whenever I play, I ALWAYS AVOID to make it there until I need Gas or Ships which now should be no problem ;) thanks to the new DLC11 i now can disable it when generating Dockland is also a must have even if you don‘t build megacitys and play casual usually you trade and find out hoe Usefull it is can‘t even play without it anymore it made ENDGAME SOO much more Interesting

    I think Docklands is only a good DLC if you only use half of its potential. Building all the harbor is beneficial and really deals with late game problems like endless loading with your ships. BUT if you use it toi cheese everything it's actually a quite harmful and bad DLC. It makes the game worse. Why would you import goods? Why building mines? Why would you even bother producing lots of the goods? Just build a few high value goods with op items and you can trade 20 motors for 1000 iron. It might be cool for record builders but for everyone else it just destroys your experience. Bright Harvest is probably the best DLC for me. It fits so perfectly thematically and gameplaywise. Watching your productivity going up to 300% and more is just satisfying and a great evolution. Why would only your houses profit from industrialization? Land of Lions is great but here again - I think creating any item you want can be (as well as Docklands) be harmful to certain playstyles. But I understand - you don't want to wait ages for the perfect item or use other cheesy methods like running hundreds of tourist harbors to get your items and I'm grateful for that. So what are my favorite DLCs? 1. Bright Harvest 2. Land of Lions 3. The Passage 4. Seeds of Change 5. Sunken Treasures

    I'd disagree....kind of. I think if you want to settle Crown Falls and build a super city, it's necessary. The amount of coal and Iron I ended up needed was so absurd that even with all mines running at full speed, it was not enough. Docklands lets you design you economy how you want. Focus on producing whatever high end good you want, trade them for raw resources, and keep on rolling. I like this a lot better than using money in the game. That said, if you are looking for a more traditional Anno experience, then it does make it a bit too easy. But then, so does Crown Falls.

    @@TheFuzzician It's too broken. You can cheese everything. Why would you even use Enbesa? You can import almost everything. Some items are already op. You don't even need to produce certain goods anymore. Just throw in - I think it's - Ironbright for cheap and produce motors. Then change 20 motors to 1000 iron, coal or whatever else you need. It's items but 100 times more op.
