I've rewatched Shirbert scenes sooo many times, and in this scene, I just noticed Bash's look and smirk while Gilbert is introducing Winifred to Anne! Let's not forget that before this scene, Gilbert asked Bash about what it means if he feels something for a girl, and even though Gilbert didn't name her, Bash must have known it was Anne since he's been, like, rooting for them since he and Gilbert were in Trinidad. So the way Bash smirks here while Gilbert is introducing Winifred to Anne seems to show that Bash is teasing Gilbert because he knows Gilbert has feelings for Anne despite courting Winifred. AAAAAHHHH BASH SHIPS THEM SO MUCH.

I know people get angry with Gilbert for the Winifred fiasco but 1. He thought Anne didn't like him (at least, in that way) 2. He didn't even know his own feelings for her Also, people hate on Winifred but she honestly didn't do anything wrong.

I was staring at Gilbert the whole time and I didn’t even notice he doesn’t even smile at all with Rose until Anne comes and he does a hit of smile but after that he doesn’t smile again until he talks to Anne at the end of this clip 🤣

1:31 Notice how Anne and Gilbert stands in front of a giant heart titled “tunnel of love”. If that isn’t foreshadowing, I don’t know what is.

her cake was number 16 and she is 16 yrs old also I feel like bash in the next episode he will probably tease gilbert on how awkward Winfield and Anne were😂 and you can see in Anne's eyes she was about to cry🤧

@@Sfb396 basically they kids are learning dances at school and Anne and gilbert dance together and have some sort of sexual awakening of "oh do i have feelings for Anne/gilbert" and bash is teasing him about his crush on this "mystery girl" so i think he kind of freaked out about his future and asked Winnifred to the fair because she symbolizes maturity and future stability because of her family. If any of that makes sense :)

The liniment thing happened because the bottle had the wrong label. Entirely Marilla's fault, not Anne's. Anne had a cold, so she couldn't smell the difference between liniment and vanilla. To me, that is what kicked off this whole thing.

I watched at this scene (1:41) while at the same time I listened to How Deep Is Your Love ~ Bee Gees❤️💖💗💞💕💔💔😭😭😭😂😂

If Anne hadn't been so horrible towards him on that train trip (to Charlottetown??) when he was there as her bodyguard, she wouldn't have flung him into the arms of Rebound Girl and the story would have been a lot shorter! He was there on Marilla's orders, and so Anne should've exploded at Marilla, if anyone. Plus, any chance to hang around with his crush is a golden opportunity to get closer, so he jumped at it. He couldn't refuse Marilla.

Because it was Mary's recipe and baking it for this contest was Anne's idea of honoring Mary. So when it was ruined she got upset (also she was already overwhelmed because of Winnie)
