Ha! Maybe that is why his wife Elizabeth was buried with her family and not with him. We can only imagine what the deaths of their children Anne and George did to them as people and to their relationship. In case you hadn't seen it, Elizabeth's burial stone can be seen here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ipdh1qyGZ9bdZaQ.html

@FourMinuteFamilyHistory4MFH I think we tend to forget that these historical figures were people with feelings. They loved and were loved. It must have been terrible to lose close family to the headsman's axe as well as the favour of the monarch. Sometimes it did not do to be too high in the land. Someone once said that if you were noble, it was better to be minor nobility living far from court and the notice of the monarch. There is a story of a noble who was introduced at court to Queen Elizabeth 1. As he bowed before her August Majesty, he inadvertently broke wind. It was audible enough to be heard. In great embarrassment he not only fled the court but England too. Years passed and he was persuaded to return home and the court. When he appeared before her, the Queen is reputed to have said, "My Lord XXXX why did you stay away so long? We had quite forgot the fart." I gather he fled once more as soon as he was able. I haven't looked into it so I don't know if there's any truth to the story. But if it is true, it shows that the Queen had a sense of humour. Thanks for a very interesting video. I've subscribed.

@@bahoonies yes the distance in time can certainly make us disconnect from the feelings these people had. Regardless of what their personalities and action were, to have had at least five children and only have one alive when you died, and perhaps being estranged from them, must have been incredibly difficult. I wish we knew more about Elizabeth. Thank you for subscribing.
