I believe ALW and Catherine Parenteau are doubles partners is because ALW wants a partner that is a good enough player to beat her. But she hates to lose, so the Singles wars are epic.

Wow, ALW calls very tight lines. Even when up big. You are better not even hitting the line as the ball is likely to be called out.

I can feel and understand Katherine's frustration. Fortunately the cause of her frustration is also the reason she has so many gold medals in Women's Doubles.

Cmon, You've played 2500 games...and you miss the first call of the match???? This puts the opponent in a pissed off state as it was clearly in. Shit tactics LW doesn't need to resort to this.

exactly. that set the tone of the whole match. that ball was clearly in. catherine should’ve challenged. but the ref prolly would’ve got the call wrong anyway. they always do somehow. it’s crazy

Impressive how these players shape the ball and hit angles with ease. The level is very high.

way more entertaining for me then watching doubles..same thing goes for tennis singles way more entertaining than doubles

Please upload videos in order so viewers can do their best to avoid spoilers. Games are so much more exciting to watch when you don't know the outcome. Also PPA please tell commentators to do their best to avoid spoilers about other recent matches in their commentating. I get post game interview you have to talk about things like 100 gold medals and triple crowns, but the fact this game was uploaded earlier than the other matches is a major fail. It makes it impossible for viewers of VODS to avoid spoilers.

No one comes close to Waters. Trophies are a over kill.

how do you miss that in ball at the very beginning of the match? That put Catherine in a bad mental state for the rest of the match. I was even annoyed. smh

AL made a bad line call

Why does the ref/umpire/whatever wait until,the very last moment before a serve to call (yell) the current score? Just as the players are bouncing the ball ready to, serve? It’s off putting as a spectator. Who knows how off putting it must be for the players.

the Ref is waiting for the opponent (receiver) of the serve to get in their ready position. The camera is on the server so you don't see that it is the Receiver delaying or taking their time to get into their ready position. The Server has 10 seconds to serve the ball after the Ref announces the score...if they were interested in delaying or slowing things down you would see them wait for 9 seconds after the score announcement (an eternity) before serving. The fact that the servers in almost all cases serve the ball within a second of the Ref saying the score indicates they want to keep things moving and are not delaying.

So pickleball is to poor to afford tennis technology to overrule these cheating calls. Shame on you kiddo, i'd think you'd be embarassed to show you feel you need to cheat. If any doubt, it ain't out.

If it was out, I doubt it was intentional. They're very close friends and partners.

Thighs need to be toned down a bit to get desired speed.
