She was at a book signing years ago and a guy who had been standing in line finally made it to the table with a photo for her to sign and security told him we don't allow photo signing - just the books. It was an old black and white photo taken in Vietnam at one of her shows, and she said 'it's okay - he's one of my guys'. She was one of the few celebrities who supported us in the military in Vietnam and she is a fantastic person.

I briefly met Ann at the Don Kirschner Rock Awards in the 70’s. She was not as tall as I thought. But she was in perfect proportion. She was so nice to everyone backstage. No attitude, already dressed and ready to go and I caught her glance, she smiled, and at 19 , I smiled back, and that was it. She had IT. It was like a thunderbolt 😅

@@poollife777I think that was more gossip than an actual " affair" from what I can remember but it's possible they could have hooked up. Elvis supposedly hooked up with lots of different women during his time with Priscilla.
I will always remember her with Bob Hope in December 1968. I was a young, homesick G.I. far from home for the first time and was fortunate enough to be there when Bob Hope came through. The most striking thing I remember is her coming back at the end of the show, in a very fancy white gown, on the make shift stage, and inviting any G.I. who wanted to to just come up and talk. The line was long. I couldn't stay....but the last vision I had of her was her kneeling, head bent down, in that gown, to hear what a G.I. was saying. I can not over state what that small action meant to all of us. I have mad respect for her.... and all that Bob Hope did for my brother G.I's for so many decades!! .

Hello Anna How are you doing today?
What a great Johnny Carson memory clip!
That was one spectacular performance... and a great recovery by Johnny! She went from being interviewed to full-on performance mode it the blink of an eye! I met Ann-Margret at an autograph convention in 2009. She was there with her husband and was the sweetest person imaginable.

well, she was about 35 here. as a young actor she was among the World's most beautiful women. if I'm not mistaken ,not very long before this show, one side of her face had to be re-constructed after a very serious 22 ft. fall from a platform/ladder, while rehearsing a show. a showbiz legend.

@@tonym994 She took a 22-foot fall from a stage in a 1972 Lake Tahoe, Nevada concert. She broke an arm, suffered five fractures of five facial bones including a smashed cheekbone, and a brain concussion. Her jaw was wired shut. Had to have all her food liquified and drink it thru a straw.

As others have said, she was the REAL deal.. beauty, talent, no tattoos, and I'm willing to bet she never had a doubt that she was a WO-MAN either.

I love Ann Margaret. So sweet, shy and soft-spoken in an interview but when she performs she's exudes such confidence, grace and great energy. Is a devout Christian as well.

The actress that starred in a movie called Carnal Knowledge must be a "devout Christian." By the way, same as ignorance being a devout Christian is not a crime. At the same, same as ignorance being a devout Christian is not a virtue. German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche described Christianity as a blemish on our civilization. By the way, the Christian Bible is the book of slavery. When the South seceded from the Union to preserve the institution of slavery they would argue that the Bible condones and endorse slavery, and that happens to be a fact many "devout Christians" seem to be unaware of.

Wow! I have always loved her. She is probably at least 20 years my senior. She is without a doubt one of the most lovely actresses ever to come out of Hollywood in my opinion.
Someone said I remind them of Ann Margaret. I’ve never heard of her but after seeing this performance I’m obsessed and honored!
I wish my grandmother had been alive Johnny said about Ann-Margret’s performance that had she been alive her performance would’ve killed her. OMG!! Johnny was so on top of his game.

Ann Margret had the Moves! She leaves it all on the stage! Glory Be!
True story. And Margaret was scheduled visit our church on a particular Sunday. I was listed on the emergency contact list giving out given out to the guests. There was an incident at the church the night before that made the news. And Margaret called me on my cell phone to be sure that it was safe for her to come to the church. I thought Since a buddy of mine, loved Ann ai thought that it was a joke. I asked her for her phone number and she gave it to me. I called her back and it was a Beverly Hills exchange so I knew it wasn’t a joke. She was a wonderful person, and I enjoyed spending the day with her.
The high beams were fully flashing 😁
I watched Johnny Carson every night👍🏻 loved his show. Ann Margaret was so beautiful
Great talent. Really had it all. Looks, talent in abundance and a hard, hard worker. A complete pro.

Man... she was drop dead gorgeous! I've always been a fan of hers, what a lady.
So much talent! An amazing performer 😊
They broke the mold with Ann. Such a commanding performer. She makes you hold your breath.
I sneaked into a theater when i was young to see her. I was amazed. My favorite actress singer woman. That will never change.💃🏼
I love how she talks and is just normal and not trying to be funny and not trying to be a sex object. And because of that she is totally appealing and beautiful.

Oh my word, this woman. 🔥😍🥰
In the middle 1950s when Elvis appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, the cameras were required to film him from the waist up. If this performance of Ann-Margret appeared on that same show, the cameras would have had to have filmed her from the neck up. 🥰😍
It's amazing that Johnny and Ed could stand up after that performance.

_Ann-Margret was the total package with stunning great looks, great voice, a great dancer, and just an all-around doll.
