Meksen has a too high IQ fight for Morales. Watch how she vary ranges of her kicks. She's also very precise whereas Morales wants to punch hard but with poor fist/legs combination. We see also a legacy of savate in Anissa's style as foot work... she rarely stands on her heel , so it allows her to trigger the combination faster.

I think Morales might not do it out of malice, just started going head first into contact, probably fighting looser, ''put her head into it'' too much
