It's not just the position of the camera, but the focus of the camera lens as well. That makes a considerable difference which a lot of people tend to overlook..

Bocchi the Rock! is one of the anime that has received a lot of attention and its original location will also be a destination for fans to visit. I hope this city remains a tourist spot for anime fans.

I had no idea the shots were so based on real places. Makes me love the show even more. And of course, massive props to finding the actual shots used. Dang good work, man.

I like how in the IRL version of the legendary "I cant tell you just yet" Nijika scene, she turns around and sprints face first into a concrete pillar.

Awesome recreation of the shots, but how did you figure out the correct focal length, I believe it would have not looked half as good if that didn't match as well as it did here.

I was just there a couple of weeks ago! It was surreal to be able to walk those streets in person.

Yes the real Starry “Shelter” became so popular to anime fans that those fan visitors actually started causing troubles with normal visitors of Shelter who came to see live performances… Even the official Bocchi creators announced a warning statement. Overtourism risk is always there…

Just went there today for a gig at Shelter, the crowds were great and the bands were amazing!

I love Shimo-Kitazawa! Funny enough, I also went there for an anime pilgramage, though for an older series; I am a fan of Someday's Dreamers II, which was an anime series that came out in 2008 and also took place in Shimo-Kitazawa. Shimokita reminds me of San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury, back in the 80s and 90s. I'd love to visit Shimokita again one of these days!

@@RLAnime I highly recommend it. It was a slice of life anime, set in an alternate Japan, where magic exists. The series was more true-to-life, down-to-earth type of drama and the magic isn't like it came out of a fairy tale or fantasy novel. Anyway, hope you check it out somehow. The VOD is available on the Internet Archive.
