For over 10 years we've had the wish to use animation on a parade float. During the 2022 edition of the Brabantsedag we finally found the perfect use. Since our theme focused on the colorful fantasy of children, and how imagination creates life & keeps us connected to our deceased loved ones, we enhanced that feeling by bringing fantasy creatures to life via animation on screens. These painterly friends help the children with flying their airships to their final destination. It was especially fun coming up with wacky movements and surreal imagery you normally couldn’t pull off in a parade, because of pesky real-life physics.
This video presents a brief overview of how we made the animations and what they looked like in the parade.
