Thank you for showing these again
I love watching old videos from professional animators to see how much they've progressed. Gives me inspiration to dedicate the same amount of time and work they've done to achieve the same thing. Though I wish you didn't hide/delete your old videos, they were *gold*.

none of my videos are deleted, only privatised. the old ones are fairly cringe ngl
such fucking improvement. Sakuga has become a fucking buzzword in the animation community but you are one of the few ones that actually seem to be walking towards that path legit

This is the type of animation I’m gunning for in the movie. God that would be awesome!
Great animation, especially 0:40 that was really smooth and the smearing effects were sick.

As someone who’s trying to self-teach animation, seeing your older stuff is so inspiring! I feel held back by my drawing skills, as I’ve only ever done landscape painting and am not great at bodies - did you already have a good understanding of anatomy/go to art school before you learned to animate, and if so, do you think I should focus on my ability to draw in general before I animate? Thank you so much!

i got a little introduction to the human head at the 3d school i attended..., but that was mostlikely everything in terms of drawing that they taught. however it made me curious on what there is more to learn! 99.9 % is probably learned through repetition and trying to gather information from the internet. exchanging my thoughts and observations with other artists / animators plays a huge role aswell. You can combine figure drawing with animation really well for example, as you really get concious about the motion and the steps behind it. you will figure out most things along the way! if you hit a wall and end up frustrated it might be a good sign, because you start to see things you haven't before. Most people start to really develope and change once they kinda hit the ground. if they don't they'll have to repeat that cycle again and again until the pain gets unbearable. aslong you create it does not better how bad you were yesterday, or how good you will be tomorrow. Change happens through consistent effort that you invested in that particular thing you would like to learn about. these reels are like my diary, so if i feel a little lost it sometimes helps me to look back at them and see how i have changed with time. It's a proof for me that i am capable of learning and growing and so i hope it is a proof for others aswell that they could possibly do the same. If animation is your passion and your desire and you want to make a living of it, keep in mind that every average job out there wants you to work at least 7-8 hours a day. That is a lot! So if you can maybe get in half of the time every 2nd day of the week, you will already see a drastic change with time.
i dont Know if you will respond my comment but on my Macromedia flash 8 i Cant draw on template genga why ?

YenYen is there any alternatives to macro media to make animations like that, I have been using pivot animator, by that is way straight forward and doesn’t allow any options for creativity
@yen_bm
6 жыл бұрын
straight forward gives plenty of options to be creative tbh. there is toonboom, Clip studio paint, easytoon, Flipnote3D (3DS) , Flipaclip (Mobile Phone) krita, adobe animate & maybe photoshop. there are plenty 2d Animation softwares out there. It took me less than 2 years to get this good.
Good stuff bruv! Anyways its me, road sign, from discord

yeah, sure thing! A change is sometimes really exciting. Do not pressure yourself too hard and take your time. Have fun while doing it and you'll be on a good way :)
Did you watch a lot of action movies to figure out how to make your own fight choreography? Your animations are really interesting!
@yen_bm
6 жыл бұрын
Liss kind of. I am a big fan of fights in general. Doesn't matter if it's animated or an old classic bruce lee film. I describe myself as movement addict. I try to analyse and break down the motion I see in my head and reflect the feeling on to my animations. Hard to explain haha. I try to learn a little bit from every animator who inspires me.
Nice, continue the Naruto one please ;_;.
