In three years, I went from having absolutely no experience in 3D Animation to working at DreamWorks Animation Studios teaching just about all of the 3D software used to make movies! After 2 years there, I left to try freelance / independent content creation on KZread for awhile, before I head back to Feature Film!
This is my journey- the entire process from when I decided I wanted to be an animator until I eventually get there, and everything along the way that will make it possible.
Whether you're chasing a similar dream, or just interested to see where mine takes me, subscribe to follow along with the incredible journey that it takes to become an animator!
You will not be disappointed.

4 years down the drain, too bad the student loan didn't get flushed down with it.

@@locallylocal Yeah student loan is a big scam so you can owe them for years. Suprisingly it's actually wiser to get a job for a year or 2 to pay for the school yourself.
Hearing him talk about Larrikins/Bilby made me so sad. He sounded so happy and proud to show/talk about this hard-working project to the world. Especially after YEARS of working on projects that were never seen by the world. He seemed confident that this one was it! That this Australian Animated Musical will be released! Only to have Larrikins/Bilby shelved some time after this current animation lesson was filmed. I really, really hope that it wasn't canceled completely. That it was just shelved and could be picked up later - hopefully soon. I know thousands of people, including me, wanted to watch a full film in such a setting/theme. Larrikins/Bilby looked so beautiful and very well animated so I have hope for it despite it being 4yrs since we've had any real info about it.
I love this episode. It's amazing that I can freely get these kinds of insider tips from an animator who works in one of the world's best animations studios. Just a decade ago, this was a privilege only available to a smaller percentage of the world's population.

Omg, I loved the bilby short video so much, it should turn into a movie.
Amazing interview and extremely helpful! I could watch 3 more hours of him giving tips!
Emotion is my favorite part of animation it's more important to me than smoothness.
This was a FANTASTIC discussion. Thank you so much for this. I would love to see more like this :) I find it funny how he apologized for talking too much, when I was like, no, no! Talk MORE! Tell me ALL the things!

Hahaha same here xD I wa shoping he kept talking and explaining more
Seeing another animator from Venezuela too makes my heart warm, now I have someone to aspire to in my career, and his advice was great!!
This was so helpful for me. He said he was talking too much but I didn't want him to stop! I loved the way he broke down the subtext behind a characters movement and how it reveals feelings and character. Thanks again for another amazing interview!
That tip about collaborating and growing a thicker skin is so true! When I first started, I was so reluctant to getting feedback because I would get very protective of my work but since I have had many people telling this advice and I see how my animator mates were improving because of this, I decided to open myself to it and now I have learned to take it as I should, like a way to improve and see what other people think works and doesn't work. It has helped me a bunch!
This is one of the most helpful things I've ever seen. Amazing. Thank you so much for this.
I love your channel, you've a simple style of putting together videos and they're on point!!!
That’s a great thumbnail. Excited to hear the tips and tricks.

He is amazing!!!! Thank you so much!
Very very helpful video!!! Learnt a lot!!!
Some of the best stuff you said were stuff you didn't even want to say hahah This is valuable stuff, if the host lets you, I say go for it as far as you can! I really think it's helping people a great deal! Thanks a lot :)
Wonderfully insightful. Thinking about what he was saying about cliche, I suspect a lot of dodging that is to have a good screenplay.
This was awesome you should do premiers more often it was really fun talking everyone and sharing our interest also I you mentioned in the chat who would you interview next but I say definitely with out a doubt Shawn Kelly and Bobby Beck with how they created AM and stuff I'm sure they did interview a hundred times but it will still be cool or maybe even what they see in the future for AM and how they feel about the Animation Industry growing in numbers!! and what are they doing now
This channel is very helpful to me thanks for the effort
I'm not in animation at all, I'm more of a 2D guy who likes to learn more about visual art in general, but this video is an absolute gem. Thanks to both of you!

I've been thinking about this method a lot, it's been really helping me to level up from animating drawings ---> animating characters. I wonder how it works if there's no dialogue though (just music) 🤔
