I love this! Do you know how to keep the images with a transparent background? Like your bird without the white background?

I'm glad you like the video! For the transparent background just simply save your images in .png format and make sure "transparency" is checked. After that try other online gif makers if the one from the video is not working for that. There are many gif animation makers online and they are very similar to the one from the video so you should still be able to follow along. Thanks for watching!

It helped me to make stickers, with png files it is easy and to animate by changing the color of the letters if each image is done with Illustrator.

Thanks for the video. Does using the gif website affect/compromise the quality of the images at all?

Gif is limited to 256 colors so if you're using a regular image that uses more colors, colors will be matched to the closed from this palette. In that case, yes, it does effect the quality, but if you are talking about a simple illustration with flat colors, the quality can be reserved pretty well. I would still stick to jpg or png formats if you're not using animations tho - use gif for things that you want to animate.

Hi, thanks! If you want to have it as an animation on IG, you must save it as a video file (mp4 or something simiar). You can search online for "gif to mp4 online" for online converters or simply drag your gif into Premiere and save it as a mp4 from there. Also make sure to tag me in your post on Instagram (@zan_stermecki), I would love to see what you're creating!

I'm glad the video was helpful for you! GIFs are limited to a certain amount of colors and you can't go past that. However, you can change the resolution of the GIF if you're referring to the resolution.

Hey I tried it out for some reason the photos just stack upon each other is there anyway I fix that

Have you used the exact same gif maker as I showed in the video? If so, give your photos a white background (you can simply save it in .jpg), or if you need a transparent background, try using another online gif maker, even tho I've made transparent gifs without any problems on this gif maker before. Good news! You are the only one who can see what you created and uploaded - no one else will be able to use your work and you most definitely can use it for commercial purposes!

Sure thing! If the gif maker shown in the video doesn't work for you, just search for another online gif maker, there are many online and the process is the same

Illustrator is not the right place to go if you want to add music. You can import the GIF you made using this tutorial into another Adobe program like Adobe Premiere Pro and add music there. You will also need to export it as an .mp4 for example, as .gif does not support sound. Let me know if you need further help and thanks for watching!

Having each image as a seperate file is correct. Then just select all of them and upload them to gif maker. If you have problems with that, try uploading one by one. Let me know if you need more help, thank you!

.jpg is fine if you don't need transparent background. If you need transparent background tho, export images in .png

You can create anything really simple like a dot moving to try this gif animation technique. Believe me, it's so much better if you do it all yourself, but you can still find a lot of animation sprites online if you really want. If you're talking about my other tutorials in general tho, all photos used in the tutorials are from Pexels so you can always find them over there. Thank you!

Every video sharing platform is trying to become tiktok in one way or another 😂 My main goal was to save people their valuable time by making my videos short, but it's crazy how short average persons's attention spam is now!

So you CANT make one in illustrator

You just using illustrator to creat the frames of the animation not the animation itself , i think you should change the title if this video

Thanks for your feedback! This is sadly as close as we can get to making animations in Illustrator at the moement. It happened before that a missing feature like this from my videos got incorporated into Adobe programs - I will pin a comment if/when that happens!

It's sad that Illustrator don't have the animated gif option build in, but this is by far the easiest way to transform Illustrator exports to gifs (unless they add this functionality in the future). And all you need is a website which is free, no log in or anything required so...
