in game the story is elaborated and its even more depressing than in the short lol. the pink haired girl was trying to escaped her mother (the one that was fighting against the mc) but slowly fall into despair after years of trying and finally decide death is the only way to be free

Idk If you know this,but the game's parent company mihoyo,has established an in house animation Studio that specifically make 2d anime type animation to genshin, and their debut project was this arlecchino animation short,and including the "Road not taken" animation song.

Mihoyo has a team dedicated to making animations like this so yes these are in house animations made by themselves

while usually Genshin animations are from the quest itself, this is a new "trend" of animation that they do to show the background lore of characters instead of the story that is happening itself to the audience, so it is totally fine to watch this without playing the game itself. im on the side that watches this kind of animation after the quest related to them, but it is definitely supposed to be watched before playing that quest, bcs the animation is up first before the quest is added to the game

You missed one thing after she kicked her. She actually destroyed the floor with her powers to kind of bring the mother to herself so she can blast her with the scythes. The roof of the building being a kind pf net that she trapped her in was a reference to her spider that died in the start

Of course Genshin Impact would have great impact frames

Because hes analysing the animation itself. not the Cinematic as a whole, there are things you can look at objectively with animation itself. So why shouldnt be analyze it even if he doesnt play the game
