That's truly one of the great things about smaller, more regional shows like these: the sound engineers hired are absolutely passionate about the music and delivering the best possible sound quality to its audience and listeners. I'm not saying engineers for major events and big venues don't have the same passion, but it seems to me like these guys just have a default mix used for all genres of music, essentially just taking the paycheck and leaving. I'd take a cozy, intimate festival over a 300,000+ weekend monster any day of the week.

deathbastardable Can you image the issues you run into though in huge ass venues that were not built for sound. I mean shit, even Rush doesn't sound (Not due to playing) perfect in a 15,000 seat arena!!!!

I have to say though, I saw Pumpkins at the Wells Fargo in Philly last year and the acoustics were absolutely amazing for a stadium-ish venue like that. I jumped the gates at the end of the show as everyone was leaving to shake the audio engineer's hand at the FOH console. He greatly appreciated it, and security greatly DID NOT :D

I'm surprised nobody here mentioned Javier. This is one of those rare instances where he's playing a Carvin. This is the only Carvin out of the other two that I've seen him with that I only saw here, never saw it before. That guy plays flawlessly too. Kudos to them all. :)

To everyone commenting about the tall guy, I was to his right with the curly hair. We were on top of one of the concrete supports for the tent. I'm pretty tall so I was crouching in order to let the people behind me see but he was standing. The crouching made me really have to pee by the end of the set and it was so crowded that it'd take an hour to get out. I stage dived off the barrier during the CAFO outro drum solo, the crowd carried me over the barrier just as the show ended and I was the first person out of the tent and into the portapotties. I still wish we could've grabbed a beer, shot the shit and watched Meshuggah. We didn't know eachother before clambering up there and ended up being coincidentally from neighbouring cities in Canada.

Something different but in a way that is pleasing to my ears and to many others as well.

I got to the tent late and couldn't see worth a damn because of the crazy setup they had in the middle with the raised platform seating. I was soo pissed. Thank you VERY much for posting this. Did you get their whole set and if so, are you going to post it? Thanks Tomp!!
