Here you are compared as a ocean love is compared as bird , so when you are/were in love during that period you've felt that love is by far the best thing happen to you {it's like bird(love) catching a fish(your priceless emotions) from ocean(you)}but in the end when you lose them you'll realise because of love your life is changed completely you are not the person that you are used to be and you'll feel emptiness in your heart मन मातम और जिंदा है ये इश्क रे - the meaning of that line is After Destroying Yourself & Everything of yours in love you still want those emotions which you've felt during your love life and remember the person who gave you the exposure to these emotions May be these lines have another explanation also but I've expressed what I've understand by these lines
