Animal Presences: 2018 James Hillman Symposium
The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture
The seventh annual James Hillman Symposium provides a window into the fascinating mind of James Hillman, a Founding Fellow of the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture and world-renowned psychologist. From the earliest years of his work in Archetypal Psychology, Hillman collected clients’ dreams with animals in them. The featured book for 2018, Animal Presences, volume 9 of the Uniform Edition of the Writings of James Hillman, co-published by Spring Publications and the Dallas Institute, collects Hillman’s quintessential thoughts on the enigmatic presence of animals to the human psyche. Internationally known psychologists, anthropologists, and artists explored the importance of animals to Archetypal Psychology in talks and informal conversations with participants.
