Animal Dumping Case No 2

Dee's Diary (Thursday 02.05.24)
Yesterday i decided i was going to share our weekend with you. In one day we caught multiple people trying to dump their animals as strays. All but one dog were not in their names, the ones that were microchipped were still in the names of breeders or previous owners and quite often some are not. They bank on this fact.
I would hate to think that all pounds and shelters dont go that extra mile to find the owner, to get to the truth. In this role, people lie to us everyday as to why they need to surrender their pets or about the animal they just happened to find at McDonalds.
Mate, i love McDonalds and i have never found a pet at McDonalds. Same as i have never seen a litter of puppies running down the street.
I can honestly say, we do our due diligence and alot of the time it costs them alot of money to undo the wrong they just tried to do. I am not about to sit here and run through the motions which are;
If microchipped - Contact the owner via phone and follow up with written communication and sit and wait for a response. No way! Everyday that animal is at the shelter, impound fees are building. The animal is becoming stressed being away from its family. If unclaimed i have to contact minimum 2 rescues. If no rescues come forward and space becomes an issue, council have the right to euthanise. No way, am i or my team going to sit there and wait for an owner to do the right thing.
If unmicrochipped - That animal has 7 days with the same process because we cant ring them or write to them as there is no detail.
Animals are living, breathing beautiful and innocent creatures that go through the same emotions we do. They cry, they shake, they stop eating when stressed, they get anxiety too. In saying that, they should never have their identies robbed of them.
In the videos i will be putting up over the next few days, you will see how scary and sad some of these situations are but because WE DO our jobs, we know their history and we know their names. Something as simple as knowing their names give some animals the strength to carry on what seems at that moment of being the worst time of their lives.
We get situations change, we definately understand that however you dont rob them of their identities and you sure as hell dont hide the sinister parts that could jeopardise another family, another animal or the community. Part of being a good owner is to step up to the plate when that animal needs you to, it certainly doesnt mean you hide or get someone else to do your dirty work.
I made a commitment to not only the councils i manage their impounds for, but also to the animals that would cross my path that i would do everything in my power to be the best i can be and quite often that starts at getting to the truth and never giving up!
Here is Case No 2
As always stay safe, be kind and continue to be your awesome selves.
Much love to you all
Dee

That is just disgusting Dee about the low life owners trying to dump their dog on you & little did they know you do your job thoroughly & got caught out. Are they being charged & what will happen to the dog very heartbreaking. It’s not the dogs fault but the terrible lie life owners. Thank you Dee & all your amazing staff 😃🤗 you all deserve a medal 🥇 for your dedication, love & caring about all the animals you are all an inspiration 🙏🙏

Wow, amazing what lengths some people go trying to avoid their responsibilities... Meanwhile the dog becomes the victim also...

Obviously it’s not the dog’s fault that it’s aggressive, we always have to look at the human owners and the life or no life that this poor animal is subjected to and everything you have told us about these people tells me they shouldn’t be allowed to have pets of any description as they aren’t responsible? What happens to this poor animal now??

Sounds like the dog wasn't treated very well..... Poor thing is most likely very scared.... Clearly based on that limited info, it wasn't socialized very well if at all, probably only knows "training" via physical means..... My heart breaks for it...

Every human this poor dog has met has failed it, and now there is a good chance it will loose it's life because of people who should never have an animal. What is the outcome for this dog, I'm sure you are heart broken. How do you stay so strong, I would be a mess. I don't know how you even want to be around people. Thank goodness you love animals.❤❤❤

Would it really be too much to ask if PEOPLE were vetted for suitability of dog ownership, and issued with a responsible owners license, including the commitment to adequately train their dogs from day one?? It is the people that are so wrong...yet they get away with it every single day.. That poor frightened dog! Perhaps, just perhaps Luke at the Farm could help? Look at Chance, Neveah, Roscoe and Freddo now... This dog's life could be completely transformed like theirs were, but only with the time, knowledge, understanding and care that so few possess - especially those hellbent on acquiring the chronically misunderstood big breeds that wear metaphorical 'status' badges around their necks..

The poor dog. They obviously have no regard for the dog or it wouldn’t be in the position it is where they are trying to dump it. What happens to the dog now? I hate to think that if the poor thing was made to stay with them what it would be going through now. Even the hit on the head with a clip board is a sign of how it’s been treated 🥲🥲🥲
