i dont think its a dead game because i dont think games die. i dont think a game is *meant* to die - that's a pretty recent thing that i really hadn't heard of until the last few years. i love complaining about this game too, but i also genuinely think the game that we got is still really good. people are still starting new channels with new horizons game play! i just dont think we need to let games die if we dont want to. (also, it was $60, im running this thing into the ground)

Yeah honestly the idea of games dying is so weird to me, since there are so many old games that haven't been updated in years but still have a thriving community. Though also I'd say it's a bit different for a game like animal crossing, which by design was "meant" to be played in real time (side note: obviously play however you want, I'm just talking about what the developers originally intended). Usually when devs want their players to return every day, they regularly add bits of content to make it more fun, like time-limited events for example. I really hope we get more of that with the next AC game (we probably won't lol), cuz for me that's a big wasted opportunity for ACNH

As somebody that restarted more than 20 times in the last month (reached 3 stars each time, started decorations, hated and deleted immediately) I CAN RELATE! I love this game, but sometimes i get stuck in wanting to do everything and nothing at the same time.

i personally don't really understand what finishing an island means personally i also haven't played new horizons in ages am a huge new leaf fan though and i actually feel super attached to my town . i could never reset

i think animal crossing is not a dead game because, even if the developers forget about it, so long as the players are still playing, the game is still alive :3 and that goes to any of em!

the worst thing about restarting is restarting in winter. You get to 3 stars and then you want to start decorating and terraforming but everything is covered in snow and looks so ugly 😫

Lol, I also got bored, but I didn't reset my island, I bought Happy Home Paradise, and I've had so much fun with it! I've had it for a week now.

it’s not a dead game to me because it’s meant to be relaxing! every time you hit a stand still, you can just reset like you did! to me, it will take hundreds of hours to do all the different customizations or have all the villagers or even complete all the villagers in the DLC :) love your vids!

I think the only way to stay entertained with the game is to choose a theme and go with it, like restart and use a theme to decorate and choose the villagers, like a japanese island/spooky island/cowboy island. Otherwhise you end up building the same island over and over again

I feel like it's the opposite works me, actually. Any time I try to do a theme I get so bored with it I just want to reset and do a diffrent one, but with a non-theme island, it feels alot more fun to do whatever I want, whenever I want.

some tips to not get bored quick, don't go to treasure islands or cheat, grind for your own money, get villagers that you don't normally get or aren't the "popular" ones, don't have a specific theme, change your island per season or your own holidays, collect everything in the museum

from where i'm at, animal crossing: new horizons isn't a dead game because it's not a live service game. they released a full game, and then a dlc and that's it. the only way i feel it could be considered a "dead game" if they were actively always doing updates for it, new events and trying to keep an ongoing active community, things they aren't trying. it's a game that you beat and can continue playing or stop, that's the point of it. which i think is nice when there are so many unfinished games that acts like a live service game when it's not supposed to be. btw, absolute adore your content! and there's nothing wrong with getting bored with it but still wanting to play, so you restart your island. as someone who still has their og island, i never saw a reason to do so, and still enjoy playing it when im not playing my other games and catching up with my villagers.

to me, the game isn't dead because there are so many island ideas I want to do - Until recently I only ever played on and off, set myself/forced myself to do a theme I eventually lost interest in and stopped playing... That changed a few days ago when I reset my island and gave my island a less themed name and I'm just allowing myself to actually enjoy myself

I saw this in my recommended and immediately went “again?😭” out loud because that was my legitimate reaction.

It’s not a dead game because there are new players every day. I think the boredom and frustration comes when your island is exactly the way you like and there’s not much to do after that.

I need lucky on my current island but NO ONE IS MOVING OUTTT!!!! I’m attached to most of my villagers but pancetti needs to go. Six year old me got so attached to lucky in new leaf I was inconsolable for like a week after he left…my end goal for my island right now is getting lucky to live on it. Also random but I know you love biskit and I have the same birthday as him…just thought it was funny lol

I'm gonna restart my forever island at some point because resident services is way too close to my airport. Originally it didn’t bother me, but on my second switch, I made a little entrance and must make another. I don't think the game is dead because the community keeps coming up with different challenges and themes to keep it interesting and fun. I've mostly played casually but now I've gotten into decorating myself. I kinda want to make my own channel. But I really don't want to teach myself how to edit videos.

i recently restarted my island and my fiancé was very confused by the concept but didn't give me a hard time about it, which i was surprised by 😂 he kept hearing me complain that i couldn't find diana and it was killing me because i was doing a "pokémon" theme island and i wanted her as a sylveon lookalike. three days later he surprised me with her amiibo card to "help out my new island" 🥺🥹💙

omg pheobe!!! she was the starter on my current island and she ended up becoming gfs with goldie so she's become one of my fave islanders 🥹

I've never played an animal crossin game until my little sister asked me to help her play acnh she got 4 Christmas. I got months of progress & flattened her island to make it easier for us to party play. The problem is some of yall don't have enough patience & are perfectionists, which is a volatile combo. I only restarted once to get an island with less rivers. If I could change & borrow some mechanisms from other simulator games to make acnh more practical & fun, I would bc I think the developers didn't think some mechanisms through enough.

Nah- it's not a dead game. It may not be THE game anymore, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. Game burnout it real, don't get me wrong, but it's still beloved.
