Based on one of St. Ignatius' favorite prayers, a prayer that Jandi learned in preparation for First Communion in second grade at the Ateneo Grade School. However, when he memorized the prayer as he was growing up, he inadvertently missed one line from the original prayer: Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Thus when he set the prayer to music in his sophomore year in college, that one line was not included. Efforts were made by others, including Jandi to insert that one line in accordance with tradition. But somehow, they all proved futile. This is how the prayer has been sung since.

Kase ang “pananampalataya natin ay may hangganan.” hindi ako ang nagsabi nyan si sir benj, ng San Carlos Seminary, Makati City during doctrinal formation ko sa Music Ministry, dated Sept. 23, 2023. kaya palagi tayo’ng dumadalangin sa Diyos na ikubli tayo sa mga Sugat niya, dahil kahit anung kapit natin sa Diyos, nakakabitaw pa din tayo sa kanya.
Nakakatawa may nag dislike pa Pero God bless po sa inyo
of all the church songs, this is my favorite. I always get teary-eyed whenever I hear this and even more tears(not just teary-eyed) if I sing it, so for the people not to look at me and for me not to grab others' attention inside the church, I am just deeply listening to the song and internalizing it with all of my heart and soul❤

I think almost everyone is super familiar with this popular Mass song and definitely (one of) our favorite Catholic songs. And it is definitely popular in Catholic schools, especially among the youth. This is an appropriate Communion Song at the Mass, most especially during the Lenten Season and Holy Week.

I agree this is very popular. I was surprised when one of my choristers insisted that this song is "so hard" when in fact, it's one of the easiest and most popular communion songs from the Philippines.

Damn never heard of an opinion like that. I'm guessing it's different in your country but it's not a mockery. It does sound a bit bad to me because of the choice of instrument that makes it look like something out of a kid's show. But other it's not really bad. I suggest you listen to other covers of the song, it's really beautiful.
