I think the stab one is actually a reference to how Angus actually died at the end of The Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny. IE, stabbed by the knife of evil, not necessarily meant to throw shade. "I've have drowned in the fires, but haven't lost my soul" is the first line in the song which is also how he died, right after getting stabbed he threw himself into the volcanic fires of Schiehallion. This is gonna be so bizarre, essentially having that album spin off into two timelines lol

@@rKhael53 Ackcshyuwally, the woke cartoon was a sequel to the 1980s cartoon. The reboot is CGI, much better than the woke cartoon, and it even includes a jab at the woke cartoon in the third season. And yes, the CGI reboot was successful enough to run for 3 seasons with more planned, while the woke cartoon was such a train wreck that it stopped after 10 episodes.

Not gonna lie I was so worried this wouldn't hold up... but it delivered and went beyond. Zero worries going forward, this is exactly the type of metal I'd been missing

I love the line "Glory left my hammer," for throwing some quick shade at Thomas' former band. Also I think they could have squeezed in a few more "whoa-oh's" in there somewhere. On a similar note this song should serve as evidence that Thomas voice is what made his former band sound as amazing as they did. Pre-Ordering the album NOW!

Winkler not afraid to fire back. “Glory left my hammer” and “ I came right back one better”. Instantly fell in love after discovering the previous band and this one today after seeing Winkler was send an email to leave the previous band

I just found out about this song after coming back from a Gloryhammer show. I got to say, this a great response to being fired via email.

The Angus Extended Universe really is one of the best cinematic franchises.

I don't care what happened between him and his band. For me, this voice represents Gloryhammer as a genre.

The homage is strong with this one. I'll definitely be getting this Angus McSIX album on April...7th? Well, I guess it's not a perfect world.

Exactly! I really like Sozos! But the way they booted him is kinda fucked. I mean come on, an email???. If bowes thought anything of thomas after the 10 years they worked together he would've atleast sent a personal message or called. not some corporate pink slip. I feel thomas deserves to be a bit spiteful cause of how they tossed him aside. I do understand why they booted him but still. pretty shitty to do it in such a nonchalant way. I hope that now thomas is running his own ship he'll be more responsible with his voice.

I get why. if the vocals aren't good the band isn't good. there isn't much info out there but from what I can tell this is what happened.

Ya know,I've got grade 4 glioblastoma. I listen to this song to help me focus and stay determined and strong! Doctors wanna keep telling me I'm gonna die and I'm not gonna be able to do anything even while I'm getting better! Or at least in doing better moving around better. Although I need to stop being a janitor and go back to moving furniture and doing landscaping. Doctor won't give me a return to work release and so..... they're possibly sending me to my death who knows! They think lifting more than 15lbs could kill me from intercranial pressure....and so they of course refuse to send me back to my job where I only lift a broom and a mop. So in 2 hours I'm calling the temp agency and I'm going to work for them again! Moving furniture and doing landscaping primarily! I'm not giving up I'm gonna try my best to start training again get back into martial arts and.....well I need money to date don't I? I figure if I fight hard I can live a lot longer than most people who just kinda die But they literally said "we want you to have a high quality of life" "no we don't want you going back to work you might never work again" America is capitalist, nothing is free. So they're taking away my ability to guaranteed pay my medical bills, reducing the amount of physical therapy I'd be doing because I won't be working,I also now don't have the option to work part time like the job I still have would be willing to do With all their pessimism and being obstinate....the doctors are ironically forcing me into the absolute worst possible position I could be put into!I could literally die next week because they won't just let me go back to work as a janitor! But I've survived a lot of things that are very highly likely to kill people before. And so I've just gotta power through and try not to die anytime really really soon! Figure I've gotta literally fight and train and rebuild the area that's damaged while they're hitting it with radiation and chemotherapy. That way I can have new healthy neurons growing while the bad ones are being destroyed. But hey,first I've gotta deal with doctors trying to rip everything away from me and destroy my life and sending me to do work I CANNOT AVOID THIS IS AMERICA I NEED MONEY work which might actually kill me according to what they've told me! Is it time to rise above? Or is it time to die? Just when you thought the American healthcare system couldn't get any worse.....I'm being sent to die doing heavy manual labor when I could otherwise have a 100% chance to live being a janitor.....but they refuse to give me the paperwork th return to work release that my job needs to let me come back to work! Am I about to be killed by my own doctors? Who knows I don't I've just gotta work as hard as I can and fight until the very end! And this song is one of my favorites for helping me get back into my warrior mentality and keep fighting!

The moment I saw the band's name of this youtube recommended song I legit yelled "No, he didn't!!". But he deadass did xDDD

This band appearing was probably the best news for me, I discovered Gloryhammer 1 year ago after Thomas sadly left it and now he keeps making songs for us!

Nothing on this world can convince me, that Thomas Winkler getting booted wasn't part of a PR stunt to create a new character in the Gloryhammer Cinematic Universe. Can't wait for the inevitable Alestorm vs. Gloryhammer vs. Angus McSix: Endgame.

The other bandmembersnof Gloryhammer teied to get help for him to improve his consistency when singing but he declined, which resulted in him offering a solution: Singing playback on stage. After that they kicked him out, but he has secured himself the rights to the whole Gloryhammer theme and well... In the end we got two great bands, so...

What actually happened?

Holy hell did not expect this! I was just wondering yesterday at the Gloryhammer gig that "Damn, what might Thomas be doing right now" and then I realise he has JUST released a new single 🔥 I just love the phase of the song, from Angus McFife being thrown in the volcano in the last Gloryhammer album, to abandoning the Gloryhammer, to receiving the sword of power and becoming Angus McSIX, its just delivered so well its amazing!!! And all the cheese it has, this really brings some good cheesy power metal vibes, can't wait to hear a whole album!!

@@MatteV2 After I heard Thomas leave the band I was a bit sceptical how would the new guy perform. But I think he has quite well fit in to band! Not the same level as Thomas was ofcourse, but Michael is doing pretty damn good job filling the role of Angus McFife. Tough I can't say for certain yet, since so far they've only released 1 single with their new singer (Far Away) and otherwise they've played all the older songs on their gigs, which imo did sound better when Thomas sang those. Luckily they are releasing a new album this summer, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how well can they perform! We actually got a bit of a taste from the latest gig where they played 1 song that hasn't even been released yet, the song was something about a sorcerer who was "keeper of celestial flame"... And it sounded really good! And im really looking forward to seeing how their new album will turn out! The fact that Thomas got kicked from the band could potentially have been a win-win situation for all parties, we will see!

Meh, new GH singer is ok but vocals are not distinctive like Winkler's. Winkler has more power and projection. As far as I'm concerned, that band died when Winkler got fired. And Chris Bowes seems to be obsessed with garbage hip-hop anyway so he can eff off.

You kidding? He's not the single consistent factor between Alestorm, Gloryhammer, and Wizardthrone, and Gloryhammer's newest single without him maintains their iconic feel without issue. He's captured some of the Gloryhammer spark in his own project for sure, having been part of the project from the start, but it's not as if the band will magically go to shit without him. If you want to see a band go to shit when one key member leaves, you need only to look at Battle Beast. Noora's stupid diva shit completely took over with Anton gone.

While I was listening to this, my girlfriend in the next room got pregnant **and** grew a full beard. We're both in our 50s btw.

I love how the song is full of disses. "Glory left my hammer But now I wield the sword" Pretty obvious since he was in Gloryhammer. "My body was dead, I couldn't have been deader. But I came right back one better" His Gloryhammer character was Angus McFife and the new band is Angus McSix, you know... fife six. "I got stabbed through my old armor made of leather. But guess who's back one better" His old character armor was leather and again with the one better from fife to six. "And my green has turned to gold" His old characters armor was green, now the new armor is gold. It's pretty obvious stuff but it gave me some giggles.

A 3 minute edit of this song could easily win the Eurovision Song Contest
